Leave them alone. iOS does it all for you. The more you close the more battery you will use long term.

IPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini. Never use the charging port. Have a wireless magsafe charging stand at home and in the car wireless charger air vent holder.

I think IPhone 16 will be wireless only, especially due to the EU ruling that in 2024 Apple iPhone must be USB C. They'll get round that by simply making them portless.
