Not quite. LPT: if you have friends, clean your place. Otherwise just wallow in despair.

What? The fact is that they were the first nation to launch an object into orbit, the first nation to launch a man into orbit, the first nation to launch an object into orbit around the Moon, and many other firsts. They had put two satellites in orbit by the time our first attempt blew up on the pad.
Yes, of course they were behind the US by the time we got to the Moon, but when Kennedy announced the Apollo program, we were without a doubt behind them. Can you name anything at all we did before the Soviets before, say, 1965?
The idea that they were behind us yet somehow would figure out what we were already doing and beat us to the punch despite our head start is nonsensical to say the least.

Pretty sure it's the green suit, although in the pictures I've seen, it's blue and looks slightly different. The white part is the Thermal Micrometeroid Garment - it's mainly for rejecting as much heat as possible and for protecting the airtight suit from pokey hazards (as well as micrometeoroids).

There's a lot of laws surrounding privacy for the IRS - they cannot just report you to other agencies. There was an exception put in for terrorism back, I think, in the Patriot Act, but in general, why would the IRS care? It's not like the DEA is going to pay them for tipping them off.

I mean, NASA did the same thing - we were way behind the Soviets when Kennedy started the Apollo program.

Heck, Russia was accused of doing that very thing in Ukraine prior to the current war.

You've gotten a lot of good answers in here - I do want to add, though, that on the continuum between friendship and active war, giving weapons to a country's enemy is waaaaaaay over on the war side. This isn't really as binary as "going to war" or "not going to war" - arming Ukraine is very close to war.
Fundamentally, Russia can't really do anything about it and NATO doesn't want to get any more involved than they are. This is what's called a proxy war.

Just wait until the blood-dimmed tide is loosed - that's never a fun cleanup.
