Yeah I thought it was getting bad lately, but I thought maybe I was misremembering. I have a photo from summer 2017 where you can clearly see the tables behind the right side of the fountation (adjacent to the restaurant)-- leaving a walking space around the whole thing. The center used to be completely open. Last time I was there a few weeks ago, I had to explain to my friend that it was public property even though it was literally fenced in and that we could walk over. I still didn't stay long as it felt like I was hovering around people eating.
OP, what can be done? It always seems like Federal Hill restaurants are given a lot of leverage.

someone drove into it around 2019/2020, so maybe that upped the cost, as well.

Reply to comment by [deleted] in Does anyone commute from Providence to Boston each day by train? We are seriously considering purchasing a home but we work at Mass General Hospital. Looking for people with experience to either talk us into it or talk us out of it. by [deleted]
OP, just fyi like Providence, Pawtucket (aka the Bucket as the residents call it) still has a fair amount of stigma from some wealthier residents when it comes to the public schools. This is an urban district. If that's something you aren't interested in and you are planning on having kids, then you will be adding 35k+ per kid per year. Those home savings will quickly vanish when compared to public schools in SE Mass.
Also, like another commenter said, some costs will shoot up like insurance rates, so add all those in.

It's frustrating when some of these places are owned by LLCs that may not even live in the state, let alone the building. There's really no reason to get invested then on quality of life issues.

Providence is a heat island. We really could use the greenery and the lack of it is so short sighted.

I've been here for a decade and every election cycle I have to hear about Allan Fung running for this or that. Is he the only Republican in the state or something?

just be aware you have to be in a building with less than 6 units btw to prevent the issue of mega units without lots taking over the streets. They will check the building with tax records to make sure and if they aren't sure the transportation building sends a rep to check lol.
