Everybody certainly feels different about the existence of neo-pronouns and certain identifiers of the sort, but those people are definitely a minority when it comes to self-expression. Especially from a perspective of conventional societal gender norms and stereotypes, it can be confusing to witness from an outsider's point-of-view, but you needn't worry too much about your children. So long as you accept your children for who they are, and teach them what you believe is proper etiquette, they should end up fine.

Don't know why you're getting down-voted. First-graders and other elementary students of the sort simply aren't old enough to be thinking about these kinds of decisions. They have not matured enough to think rationally, and could likely to make decisions they will come to regret later in their life. There is a reason we do not give our children full autonomy. We don't need to make children feel like they are struggling with their sexual identity when they really aren't even close to the stage of development where they would actually be afflicted with these feelings.

On the other hand, teaching our youth to be tolerant and respectful to others, regardless of certain characteristics is perfectly okay. There is a fine line between indoctrination and education.
