There are hundreds of stories out there of people who sign up with these companies then after the introductory rate period is over it automatically locks you into another year long contract at double the price because you “forgot to cancel”. They are basically walking scams and use people hate and lack of understanding to prey on people.

I can only imagine the absolute shit storm that would arise for someone proposing tidal power.

It will “ruin” fishing industry, it will forever destroy our little coastal town. “Don’t use our town for your profit” , it will destroy our ocean habitat and so on and so on.

Yea I bet like OP wrote, CMP is utterly terrified of tidal power.

My guy, that be the bill to just pay off the debt of buying them out without interest. You will still have your normal bill which roughly will be half generator cost(which CMP has no control over) and other half is delivery cost which they have some control.

Pine tree power will by default have to charge you cost to pay back the massive debt, generating power cost, delivery cost, cost to hire people to run the company. And last but not least, charge enough to get the capital to make these “grid improvements”

So your bill going to at minimum double is not triple. So will mine

But also be realistic that it will still cost Mainers 13 billion dollars. People site how AVANGRID made 3 billion dollars but that is AVANGRID as a whole including all the companies under them. CMP some small fraction of it, probably millions

to only just buy CMP not including all the legal mess and cost, how many people we will need to hire to get this new company up and running. It going to be very very expensive.

Example what I mean, you can bet that majority of HR department is probably located at their head office. We probably need to build up the ground. I wonder how many other departments are located at their different locations or just spread out.

One thing you bet is not considered or thought about is how many departments are consolidated into one group say at their headquarters.

You can bet CMP doesn’t have a full HR department, maybe one person that here full time but the rest will be at the headquarters. Dames goes for many other departments that doesn’t need to be at CMP when it can be located at NY or CT. I heard how they pull linemen from other OPCO when a big storm hit and so on.

A new Pine Tree Power will probably need to hire hundreds of new workers not accounted for driving up cost

It really is like a bunch of spoiled children who don’t understand the consequences of their actions.

It’s the same exact way and process they used to stop the corridor(which was funded by NextEra fossil fuels generation plants) and now they cry the process is being used against them.

Let me go play the worlds smallest violin.

The ballot measure system is completely broken but only want to keep it because it works out for them sometimes.
