You are correct. But employees working at a location greatly increase the probability of those restaurants and other local businesses increasing sales. My point was that those businesses are not paying taxes like they previously have. If they earn less, then they pay less. The city or town where the offices are located count on the tax money to pay for services. The municipalities where state offices are located are undoubtedly lobbying for employees to be back in the office.

Lets look objectively.

Leadership is back in the office.

Taxes are down in urban areas where most offices are.

Restaurants etc are not getting lunch crowds, again taxes.

Other employees who cannot telework are demanding some other perk or compensation.

People who rent space to the state are usually politically connected, they are losing rents.

IT is usually the easiest job to telework, and the industry is currently experiencing layoffs.

Whether legitimate or not, when the politicians aka the rule makers have to show up (albeit how little they do), then they are going to demand that you show up.

My opinion is the grand experiment is ending.

Do you know where a lot of people get arrested for weed? College and Universities… The reason why is even more bizarre. The Federal Government has a law that says if they don’t charge drug crimes that the school could lose federal funds and aid. Also once you are convicted, you are ineligible for federal aid.

Whether you agree or not, Gov. Wolf became the face of PA Covid. He burned too much capital and goodwill. Not a chance of him getting enough support. Many small democrat business owners hate him. Moderate Republicans and small business owners won’t vote for him. I figured he knew that, so that’s why he had Lt. Gov. Fetterman run.

None of you are paying attention. If he resigns, it goes to Joanna McClinton. She and the Governor are good friends and you lock in SEPA, the largest region in Pennsylvania. Only way she doesn’t get it is if Shapiro wants it. Then he’s picking a placeholder until the general election. Hell he may require the person to pledge not to run if he’s going to be a candidate.

What the actual difference is, seems like the guy with the electronic bill board has that on his property and posts whatever he wants.
This guy paid to have his sign on someone else’s property and the property owner took offense or was threatened.
Easy to solve , have a Democrat put the sign on their property.. They can be like electric sign guy who also reports he has been threatened etc. But doesn’t care. It comes down to post what you want, but have the testicular fortitude to do it in or on your property.

If the Commonwealth pays for your dads care, even to you, then they can use his assets to recover their costs. There s a 60 month window in which they can demand the return of any asset that has been given, gifted, or transferred. If you can no further provide care of him, as soon as he hits the nursing home, his assets come into play. While there is a law called the Spousal Impoverishment Act, it only applies to spouses and it outlines specific items or percentages that must be considered or included in the taking of assets.
