sure, but my thinking was that Singapore is a family-oriented place, so any threat to the core family would be bad, so how come man+man is bad while women+women is not.

Singapore inherited this law from ancient times and it was just never changed.
The weird thing is that man+man = nono, but two women was never an issue.
