All salaries are low here. It used to be justified by the lower cost of living. When I started out as an engineer in Vermont ~12 years ago my starting salary was almost $30k less than another offer in NYC. Cost of living (and quality of life) easily justified the the lower salary job. Not so much anymore.

Burke Mountain's training slope is one of the steepest in the world and has produced more Olympic ski talent than any other mountain in the world. Great skiers come to Burke because it's the place to ski if you want to be the best.

Affordable doesn't exist here anymore because of people moving here.

Edit: if you need convenient access to modern amenities like international airports, gas stations or decent pizza Vermont is not the right place for you.

The first one I saw up close was caught in a have a heart trap while we were trying to relocate some skunks... moving the cage with a very upset Fischer was about 1000 times more frightening than the stink bomb alternative we were aiming for.

Foxes mature quickly, but will stay with their mom and hunt as a team for 5-6 months after reaching maturity. It's how they learn to hunt and survive outside the den. Communication with other foxes is their primary reason for vocalizing.

Fox would be my next bet then. They have a range of vocalizations.
