I'm not really advocating for public policy be 'give me $3,000'. It was more of a comment, really.
I don't know if I'm going to solve America's economy in a reddit post, and I'm not really going to try.
I just know $120 million is too much. That we can seemingly agree on.

Just with rent and expenses. I'm thankfully pretty healthy and don't have dependents, but things are expensive these days, and wages have not proportionally increased.
That tiny bit of breathing room would reduce my stress substantially.
120$ million on a cop playground doesn't help me at all. We spend so much money on police already, and it doesn't seem to have much effect on making things safer. This budget should be slashed immensely and spent on genuine provable community benefit.

$3,000 would change my whole life.

Massive cynical companies buy empty houses and sit on them for years. $5,000 is more than $2,000. A poorer family could move into a house and turn it into a good home but money talks. Many of these companies are not Pittsburgh based, so they don't give a shit about the day to day lives of the people living here. Profits go up, and more is more.
It goes to highest bidder, and most of the time they do get sold. Because that's just 'the way it is'. It's very sad.
There should be laws against this stuff. Because at the end of the day, it's just hoarding. When people do it, we send interventions and specialists. When companies do it, we send awards and more money.
Lunatic stuff.

Landry kills a guy in Friday Night Lights and they basically erase it from everybody's memory. It was a stupid idea to begin with and the show is a lot better for it.

I enjoyed the ride and it was certainly pretty unique. It gets a little too convoluted which hinders the storytelling and not all the twists land as hard as they could. I don't know if it ever is as purely fun as that first episode but it gets pretty close. But worth the watch for sure.

They needed to completely redesign Smithfield Street. I would not be surprised if there was a Ghostbusters 2 hell slime river underneath.
The nexus seems to be that one street with the library, the church and the Burlington store. It's also right where the P1 busses pick up. It gets very very crowded at times, especially rush hour. I just think people get overwhelmed by the intensity and act out. Some of the things you see on that particular block will break your heart.
It's also right next to Mellon Park, which is for some reason closed constantly. It's a city park that we can't use. Opening that up would increase the openness and vibe of the place. If they have to assign a security guard, so be it. I think it'd be worth it. Wealth disparity factors in as well. Grant is business and Smithfield tends to be more affordable, low income (mixed randomly with mountains of wealth). They feel like streets in two different cities.
We need more breathing room, there especially.

Saw it in 3d and aside from jags talking, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think Cameron wants it to be seen in 3d and no one's gonna do it better than these Avatar movies. There are subtle effects like dust in the foreground that really sell it. I'd recommend not putting on the glasses until the movie starts. 3d does not work for trailers. And they didn't even make Nicole Kidman 'heartbreak feels good here' so that's a misstep.

Apparently 61st Anniversary. I always enjoy it but dang if it isn't frustrating not being able to walk through Markey Square for a few weeks.
I'm there a lot and it would save me a lot of time. It's not the end of the world.
Also don't like the barriers. They should do it piece meal. A quarter at a time. Finish one quarter, move on the the next. But then again, I know next to nothing about construction and am just some guy.
There has to be a better way. Because it's an extra annoyance every year, and has been for a while.

Tomorrow would have been fine. I just wanted a day of not endless construction while I walk around. I just wanted to see people dressed as mummies, and enjoy a night of weirdness. 1 day.
This Christmas obsession is a lot. I'm not Christian but I appreciate people enjoying and celebrating their holiday. But dang y'all. A 1/6 of the year?
It's a lot, is all I'm sayin.
I know nothing I say here is going to change this. City's got plans and I wasn't consulted. I'm just throwing some wishes on some scraps of paper into the endless whirlpool that is the internet.
I'm glad people like it. I'm just saying it's pretty annoying.

Earlier and earlier every year. Craziness. They put up the tree and ice rink two weeks ago and we've had multiple 70 degree days.
Next year it'll go up in beginning of October. Then September, then July. Soon all year it will be Christmas Town™, a haunted depressing place, because no one wants to buy a Christmas ornament in the Summer.
Let me have one day of Halloween!
Jesus Christ.

He had such great presence always. Maybe he was just looking for the right script that rarely came. For some reason it's hard to do Dracula well.

Wow watched this yesterday. Far too little Cushing and Lee (should be the whole movie instead of Mods drinking hot chocolate.) The Alucard scene is hilarious though. London in the early 70s did seem swingin, I will say. If anything could do for a remake it's this. One of the great titles for a movie of all time.
