Yup. The Denholm building primarily houses non-profit organizations, so the fact they are closing it down for what will probably be low income housing goes to show you where Worcester's priorities are. All the talk about how glorious that area "was" and what the plan going forward? High density low income housing? LOL!

The issue with these "leases" is that they include every kilowatt hour these panels will ever generate for the next 30 years at a fairly high rate per kilowatt, with large increases baked in each year. Add in some finance charges and equipment fees, and that huge figure is then simply divided into 30 years of monthly payments and there is your monthly payment. And you will still have some kind of an electric bill as well. Worse, they have a lien on your home that must be satisfied before sale. It's a tremendous scam and I cannot believe Congress hasn't addressed it yet.

The best OP can hope for is to get a lawyer and try to negotiate a buyout with some kind of discount/price reduction. OR if OP can sell the home and convince the buyers to takeover the lease!

These sales folks prey on the elderly too especially because, with a 30 year lease, they know it will be the children/heirs that end up paying the lease off with any profits from the estate sale.

UMass Medical is a terrible organization top to bottom, thru and thru.

I went to the UMass ER one evening. In the two hours I waited there was a fight and then there was also what I could only describe as a drug induced psychotic breakdown with another person there. I didn't feel safe and I left, ending up at Milford Hospital where I was seen within 30 minutes.

I have also seen a few doctors in the UMass system and the general theme with all of them was you to had ride them for everything. They would want tests done and then forget to order them. Then when you call to follow up they give you a hard time. They would get test results and then fail to call or inform you; usually you have to seek out of the information like a private investigator!!

No one should go there. With all the great hospitals in Massachusetts, any one of them is a better option.

On Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares TV Show, it seems many people use their life savings to start a restaurant when they are in their late 40s/early 50s - hoping to parlay their savings into a nice retirement fortune. Unfortunately most of them end up bankrupt and have then either lost the house, retirement, or both!

You might be able to organize your run so as to have part of hit the Blackstone River Bikeway. It starts on Paul Clancey Way in very South Worcester. But you'd certainly get a lot of uninterrupted miles.

  1. Try calling on Friday (payday) but not too close to 5:00PM

  2. If a male customer service rep answers, put the female of the house on and use a nice, passive voice.

  3. Usually you can tell the customers service reps personality and mood with 10 seconds of the call. If it doesn't seem like someone who is easygoing and amenable, just hang up and call again.

Overall Massachusetts is a great place for Asian Americans, in my opinion. Shrewsbury Public school has a 33.6% Asian enrollment rate. Hopkinton 26.4%. Grafton 13%. Unfortunately Holden doesn't publish its demographic numbers. I would definitely look at the enrollment figures over the town demographics because there are a lot of old people in these towns who have no children in the schools.

Since house prices won't really matter, I'd pick Shrewsbury. It's a great place and very close to Abbvie.

I would look at Jiu Jitsu or boxing, as a lot of MMA fighters seem to have a background in those and had their start in those. If you teach your kid how to really throw a good punch he/she will probably be way ahead of 99% of the kids in school.

In a dense area like Worcester, Charter techs often play a cat and mouse game with the signals going into your home. They have to be within certain parameters/db levels for your cable modem to read them properly. When a new neighbor moves in, an inexperienced or lazy tech may split the signal and cause your cable modem trouble. It's a problem inherent with cable internet.
