The problem is the disconnect from society that those people have. That doesn’t just happen to the rich and powerful, they are just in positions to exert their will on a major % of the population. The singularity will have the capacity to “cure” that, but will also have the power to create humans even more disconnected from “us”. Basically there will be more terrible people post singularity, but I think access will be easier to more people, making the everyday life of most people, much better than it is now.
