Because those for whom the system works well (ie people with good jobs that provide excellent insurance) are afraid of a decline in their care and the groups which have an interest in the current system (insurance companies, doctors, pharmaceutical companies) influence congress to not change the system and promote fear about a replacement.

I agree with the problems but I think they are less lasting than many do. Even if they continue I see a slow churn rather than some big blowup. The percentage of people actually ready to take up arms against their fellow citizens is minuscule. I share your concerns though.

The United States has a way of going through cycles where everyone is predicting it’s eminent demise and then a decade later it’s clearly on top again. See 1860 VS 1870, 1935 VS 1945, 1975 VS 1985, etc. the issues you cite are real but fears of an eminent civil war are overblown. Who’s willing to fight? And for what?

One of the requirements of being a Freemason is belief in god, although you are correct that many of the founders were not deeply religious.

Washington also regularly attended different Christian denominations to promote National unity. Although the atheism of the founding fathers is sometimes overrated, many of them were undoubtedly way ahead of their time in regards to religious freedom.

“Freedom struggle” is a pretty nice way of saying victory for a communist dictatorship.

There are five broad categories that corn varieties are classified into.

Homeless people make up a negligible share of those in poverty though. The big difference is that California has a huge poor migrant hispanic population and a high cost of living
