So where do you draw the line on where that should stop? A free lollipop? Free generic drugs? 1 day of treatment? 10? 100?

For-profit or not for profit, it is flat out immoral to view health care decisions based on profit opportunities, and it's flat-out immoral to judge whether to provide life-saving health care based on an ability to pay. And if you think it's a great way to make money and that a person should not get care if they don't cough up for it (or have someone paying for it) YOU are why this country is suffering from the late-stage effects of malignant capitalism.

So non-profits pay all the property, state income and sales tax?

So when I give a non-profit ID # to stores when I buy stuff for the non-profit charity fund-raising group I'm affiliated with, we're NOT getting the benefit of claiming to be a non-profit?

(I was under the impression non-profit health care providers in PA had to provide a certain amount of charity care, but sadly, I was very wrong.)

As a former Catholic, I've got no horse in this race, but are you aware of all the sex scandals that are happening with protestant "Youth Pastors" hooking up with teenagers in their Youth Groups?

It's also rampant in a lot of the higher-control religions like JW, Mennonites, Amish, etc. It's everywhere.

Positioning all Democrats as pedophile "groomers" and child abusers sets gullible conservatives/Christians into a mindset where they need to "save the children" by killing Democrats. If you don't think this speech inspires murder, just look at the Comet Pizza debacle.

It's not binary: "Nazi" or "not-Nazi" - you don't get to Full Nazi overnight. I totally get your concern about cheapening the word "nazi" but there's value in warning people that we seem to be on a similar track to Germany in the 30s.

I always tell young colleagues to keep a running list of the projects they worked on, disease category, clients, and notes on what they contributed or learned. Then, when they go to look for another job, they aren't rummaging through their memory for this information. Employers will ask for that, and it's nice to have right in front of you in a spreadsheet.

And yet they don't do without decent government, like so many low-tax/no income tax states.

My friend's kid had a slight developmental delay and damn, did Delaware get on that, with an army of people doing assessments, speech therapy - the works. So low taxes AND relatively strong govt services, thanks to the credit card companies.

Way back in prehistory I was calling my employer's marketing dept to have something shipped to the Dover Mall.

"I don't think Fed Ex ships to Dover" (like I said, pre-history)

"It's the state capitol, of course they ship there"

"State capitol? Of what?"

"Uh, Delaware?"

"What state is Delaware in?"
