I’m fortunately struggling to think of the last underwhelming meal of mine from a Richmond restaurant. I will say that the nice little sandwiches at Sugar and Twine in Carytown used to be a great value for your dollar but that time is sadly over.

In a perfect world, the city owns and operates high quality public indoor athletic venues. In practice, you have the current facility on the corner of Robin Hood and Arthur Ashe Boulevard that is decades past its sell-by date and not worthy of the name on the building.

fuck, i’m sorry that happened. if you’re not familiar with the area, you wouldn’t know it is possible to go around into the parking area at the elementary school next door and walk in.
i think they were doing curbside voting and that place was just not built for it. should have been able to direct such a gross affront to the environment to a larger space like the high school bus loop. they are not prepared for the car crush there to get voters in, just to get cars through the area.

its out of date in terms of this election cycle, but you are probably being represented by va-07 >right now<. Maps changed this cycle following the 2020 census.

Do you know why that realm might have so much salience with your nephew’s dad(brother (in-law?)?)? Knowing that probably would help yield a more effective strategy.
What interests has your nephew ever displayed?

Conversely, I didn't vote on it and was largely ambivalent, but this open repudiation of a public referendum is maddening.

I think trying to sell some TV to someone who will pay a lot more than what you can get for it on your own service is very logical, and probably one of the more obviously smart deals to make. If Amazon wants to overpay for some original Batman show that would otherwise not get made, it's a win-win-win for the IP holder, studio, and customer.

I hope it's him, if only because we don't need party operatives in local government and this is a way to get him out. We need a well-regarded and proactive citizen of the city as mayor.

Our Thanksgiving was Saturday. The adult kids stayed overnight and we sprinted on Sunday to get everything put up for our parents. 2 trees, the mantle, nativity scene, some holiday antiques, dining room table, and garland all pulled down, put up, and restored in the attic in a day. Somehow I had time left over for present wrapping and exam prep.

If I lived alone I think I would get a natural 4-5 ft tree and throw some lights and fun little knick knacks on it. Tree stand + whatever can fit in a shoebox that fits under my bed would be about my limit.
It gets so dark this time of year and I think my silly little brain finds comfort in the lights.

In my experience, if i have any lingering crud in my system that already has my body on high alert, it lights up like a Christmas tree with a flu shot. All of the wild temperature fluctuations, colds, RSV, made the flu shot more annoying to time.

It's really nbd to get your bivalent covid and flu shots. I haven't heard anyone with adverse reactions or otherwise getting flattened by their immune system response to them. Supply should be good now and you can get them for free on the same day in a lot of places.

If you have business in the city proper (or Arlington or Alexandria) it’s better to do in every conceivable way. If your final destination is in the wretched stretches to the West like Fairfax and Tysons up to dulles and ashburn, you’re gonna hate life.
