You are if you’re saying it’s illegal to work today in the US bc it’s a Christian holiday

And holy crap, Tons of people work today. It’s not just restaurant workers.

No food, no travel, no hotels/hospitality, no people voluntarily driving Ubers or taxis, no hospital care or doctors, no ems, no fire departments, no nursing care attendants, no people running dialysis centers… I dunno sounds awful to me, all over a Christian holiday? Not into it.

Oh I 100% disagree. I’m very surprised that people want to combine church and state in that way bc that’s not where my personal beliefs fall. That’s disappointing to hear but I guess not surprising given recent views on abortions and what not. I hope we, as a country, never align with religion in that way. I think the Chinese community and the Jewish community having their own tradition is amazing. I hope diversity only encourages more. Happy holidays.

I’d rather an Indian restaurant or jewish/Israeli restaurant shut down for holidays that they want to celebrate than to force Christian culture on everyone. Let businesses operate as they want to. Don’t like it, then quit. Open restaurants today are a minority and the demand for restaurant workers is still there so move if it’s not worth it.

I’d rent a hotel room and send them the bill.

I wish I could help - my building has no heat/hot water currently and my building is offering to reimburse if we go to the Element on chestnut, I’m not home but can’t think of a good way for you to take my “spot.”

If you go there and your landlord doesn’t reimburse, I’ll send it to mine lol.

I have heard some talk about the fact that it just doesn’t have to be this way, in a sense, it’s voluntary for adults and even involuntary for children to be sick in general. We shouldn’t accept that people need to be exposed to these illnesses. Just put masks on, social distancing as a norm, no intimate contact unless in a bubble, and quarantine if you have a cough/cold. And then you don’t need forced upon you antibodies.

If you continue that for your whole life, can’t go wrong.

What are the things you’re seeing most of, since it’s not flu/Covid? RSV? If so, is it primarily children?

If it’s the things mentioned in the article like heart disease, do you think lack of preventative care during Covid etc could be responsible for an uptick? Longer lasting side effects of having Covid starting to show?
