I personally believe there are a couple great spots but for where you are staying and for delivery, I'd definitely recommend Pho 14 in Columbia Heights. That's our local and they do a great job with delivery.

Ha it’s little odd for someone with far more pickiness about a very specific authenticity to ask for opinions from this crowd who no doubt know much less than you, but I have always had good meals at the Lebanese Taverna in Woodley Park and I believe the owners are Lebanese. I would have no problem recommending it to any IT snob.

To answer your question about whether the airport is open 24/7, you’ll be able to find a space to hang out. However, it’s a big gamble that your flight is going to go off at 8am without a hitch

Locals who tool around the Mall running and/or biking are the lamest of the lame. How much attention do you need? Slow down, chill, everyone knows there are a ton of slow-moving tourists and there are a million other places to exercise. Shout out to the fitness creep who I saw trample two kids during peak cherry blossom season a few years ago. Loser!

I’m saying that the infrastructure changes are already saving lives and “enforcement” of people who are speeding or being reckless is not a simple process.

I am not an expert but I have read enough to understand that there’s an ebb and flow with traffic safety - some people will drive FASTER if they see protected sidewalks and lanes because they stop worrying about their safety. At the same time, sidewalk and bike lane protections DO protect pedestrians from the average driver.

I do believe in stepping up enforcement for bad actors, just that it’s not a simple flip of the switch.

Right, if that’s your only metric but cycling down 14th St. NW is MUCH safer now than it was before. Same with cycling across town. Both places I was hit by cars on my bike are now protected lanes. So yeah, the effort has helped. Same story with the traffic calming around crosswalks.
