Right you're comparing Austin to smaller towns in New Jersey. New Jersey mass transit is designed to get you to New York for the most part with some towns having some mass transit that works within the towns and nearby towns. As far as cities go New York City and the immediate cities near it in New Jersey have far better mass transit than anywhere in Texas.

You can't compare a city to interstate travel between much smaller towns.

Overall the New York City metro area is far superior to any mass transit in Texas overall. There is just no debate there.

And we have a lot of work to do in New Jersey still

I would pop in and have a smashing bowl of ramen at Miso Ramen for lunch. Always a nice treat. It is technically full sit down but it really is super casual. For just single diners they have this long counter so you aren't sitting at a table.

Yes for 2.5 million in the Heights it should mostly be multi-unit buildings/investment properties. Homes that expensive are just not very common up here. 2.5 million downtown will get you a sick brownstone, and the Heights is not near those price points.

Oh great, a cop who thinks nobody might need help to get back up on their feet. Sorry, but the world doesn't work that way. We all live on the same planet and it takes a community effort to make things better along with individual effort. I in no way implied that mental illness can be cured with a magical pill, it's a process. And the fact you think nobody else deserves any support in doing so because supposedly nobody helped you at all, is really sad. So you got zero support from anything eh? Absolutely zero government or community programs? Did you live on the streets? How did you afford a place to live when you were going through all that stuff?

With that attitude I can safely guess you are not the kind of cop we need on the streets. I feel bad for the fewer good cops who get shit because it seems they are surrounded by cops that don't get it - and your attitude exemplifies it.

Mental illness is part of it but I included that - the GQP wants no social safety net for those types of things. The fact you don't think actual economics plays any factor in homelessness is insanity. But typical of ignorant right wingers that are just taking this country down by having zero ability to critically think.

JC could definitely work for you. For occasional nightlife - there is nightlife in JC, plus Hoboken, and the city is close if you want to change it up, just keep in mind the PATH trains late night are infrequent but they do run on a schedule, so keep that handy on their app on your phone so you don't get stuck waiting on the platform.

For physical activities, JC is great as you can ride bikes and zip in the city to ride more miles easily, but you can easily zip up north to hike at Bear Mountain or Harriman or zip west to hike or camp at other parks in NJ if you own or rent a car. And the beach is also a zip south. So you do have more access to a variety of outdoor activities.

If you like live music and a variety of venues, we do have some but it's a pittance compared to areas of BK, so then BK would be for you.

H Mart has some good kimchi, though I heard they have started to stop selling other brand and really just pushing their house brand, at least according to one brand I emailed. But I have gotten some great kimchi at H Mart and they have all different kinds, including like scallion kimchi which I love.

This stuff is pretty good, but expensive. I think I've seen it at whole foods https://milkimchi.com/

Regardless, when you buy kimchi make sure it has some of the more pungent authentic ingredients like anchovie fish sauce or salted shrimp [paste]. While Korean recipes vary, those are usually always in it. Otherwise it's being gringo-fied.

it's a Jared Kushner building. Fuck that guy. They are also notorious for being shitty landlords, probably more for their less lucrative properties than something like Journal Squared price points, but they are corrupt motherfuckers in general.

Just an FYI there is an actual PATH train schedule, so if you don't want to be waiting in the station for 30 minutes by just missing a train, you can stop and get a drink or bite of food nearby before going into the PATH at 33rd. And yes there's an app for that.
