I work in tech, and I do a lot of remote support sessions on 3rd party systems. I have a strict policy of not asking for passwords for obvious security reasons. With the stuff I'm usually verifying, it also means logging into the same systems over and over again while I verify settings, gather logs, reset, power cycle, and re-check.

Today a customer literally gave me admin / admin as his username and PW for a critical system.

A) how can anyone be that dumb?

B) why would voluntarily blurt out your username/pw combo to anyone?

C) how can anyone be that dumb?

This is the answer. It's prepped in the same facility using all the same equipment as their regular breads. The can clean all they want, but they can't guarantee it will be 100% contaminant free.
