You're right. I do like pizza. But also, not all shelters also need wraparound services. If there's a great need for an all-inclusive solution, there's little need for it to be located downtown, which increases costs and places a greater burden on the broader neighborhood.

A friend of mine who used to work for the police said they were brought in as a PR tool, not as a policing tool. Pittsburgh has few events that require horses, and the cops bring them out even less often.

I was thinking something similar... The pizza place stays, they work for minimum wage, get some free pizza, and it remains open to the public... Workforce development and a shelter in one.

Weird question... I hope I'm at Magee or Children's because it means I've only feinted or something minor, but if I got shot I'd want to be at Presbyterian. If I got stabbed I'd want to go to Mercy. Different hospitals have different specialties. One of them is better for burns, etc.

I saw some vagrant post something about making the Busway into light rail. What a joke. They're more likely to convert the rail into Busway. The rail system would be cheaper to operate and more efficient as a Busway.

So changes they weren't going to be made until 2025 will still not be made... Until 2025. Got it. Cool.

I'm a member. There is no upfront fee. It's about $200 for the all-in membership, which includes events, gym, and dining. You can get it down to about $80 per month if you take out some of the options. The chef changed sometime during COVID and the food isn't what it used to be, so I recently dropped the dining option.

Counterpoint: Rail operations actually cost more money because you need to maintain the infrastructure 24/7. Check PRT's budget. Cost per passenger served is significantly higher for rail compared to bus.

Can someone please overlay this with median household income? This table is interesting but it would be an added bonus to see, like others have eluded to, how much money people are making in these places. I presume Pittsburgh has a higher median household income than most of these places but that would just be a guess.
