I’m following the Census Bureau categorization. Those are the official splits in the US: White, Asian, Black, Hispanics (of any race).

No, New York is 31% European White, 29% Hispanic, 20% Black, 14% Asian. Toronto is 44% European White, 37% Asian, 10% Black, 3% Hispanic.
81% of Toronto is White or Asian. That doesn’t scream super diverse to me.
Diverse would be Queens: 28% Hispanic, 26% Asian, 24% European White, 16% Black.

Sydney and Toronto are not more diverse than New York. They’re largely Asian and White. New York has everything.
London is a worthy competitor though.
And diversity =/ immigrants. There’s racial, religious, socioeconomic, ethnic, age, political diversity. All are just as valid as “% who are immigrants”

Sounds like the same gangbangers killing each other story, except this one was in the suburbs.

The one by the White House on 17th Street is becoming homeless zombieland. Very sketch. The White House office building (New Executive Office Building) that faced it even shut down that entrance since there were homeless sleeping on benches all on that block.

No, you have to dig a little bit but I bought one for $9.95 since the search function is made to sell you the exclusive ones.
It was $9.95 + $2 to port it away. There were about 100+ numbers at that price range. If you want to keep it at numberbarn, then yes you are renting it.
Type 212, then in filters put “Get It Now” and sort by price and a lot should come up.

I wound up taking a risk with a USMobile free trial and got…646 FML
Just went ahead and bought one for $10 at NumberBarn though.

Because the sub is about the DC area, not just DC. See Rule 3:

TLDR: "In Virginia, where a state report found that approximately $1.3 billion in merchandise is stolen this way annually, state lawmakers approved legislation Thursday that will make organized retail theft a felony and make those convicted of the crime eligible for prison sentences of up to 20 years.
The legislation, which has the governor's support, will make it a Class 3 felony for anyone to conspire or act in concert with one or more people to steal retail merchandise with a value exceeding $5,000 in a 90-day period, with the intent to sell the stolen goods for profit."

This. My sister was bullied endlessly in middle school by these ghetto girls who taunted her for “trying to be White” (for the sin of reading books and being curious). Her grades were terrible and she would cry every day on the car ride home. School officials did nothing because the girls were Black and they were worried about being seen as racist.
We moved her to a more suburban district and now she’s thriving. There’s still trashy kids, but she’s in AP classes and has friends and doesn’t get taunted. It’s amazing what the environment does for kids.

That’s true, but OP posted that their ladder was 5-6-7, so they have one of those rare jobs that doesn’t apparently.

Do you get transit benefits as a fed? How many days do you have to come in? I moved to Prince William and I now pay $2,300 for a 3-bedroom when I was paying that much for a one bedroom in DC proper. And I have VRE next door that’s free with the transit subsidy.
Otherwise, I agree that you’ll have to be creative. A GS-12 is when it starts getting financially stable if you’re single. This region is not cheap.

5 for a year, then automatic 6, then wait a year for automatic 7. Then they have to hop jobs cause the ladder tops out at 7.

Hispanic is Hispanic of any race.
Black/White/Asian is non-Hispanic Black/White/Asians.
So a Black Hispanic in the chart above would be coded only as Hispanic.

I’m aware. I even mentioned that above: Hispanics (of any race). Census usually shows “non-Hispanic” for the Asian, Black, White groups.
It’s why Census data is usually presented as four groups: https://censusreporter.org/profiles/16000US3651000-new-york-ny/
