That something was; yes, and that would be the most obvious thing it could have been. I was just thinking that with how Tanya had misinterpreted people’s intentions in the first series is, and how those she thought were trying to kill her made no open attempts to do so or admitted to doing so while being killed by Tanya, introduced a flicker of doubt there — that it would be fitting with the themes of The White Lotus if we later found out Tanya and Portia were mistaken, that the ‘something’ was something else (say like they too expected to benefit from Mia’s and Alessio’s scam, given that they briefly crossed paths) and that like Armond in the first season, Tanya (and those she killed) died for nothing — that she (like Shane) had made the wrong assumption.

As in if there were not meant to be a flicker of doubt, why not have them admit to it. When Tanya had shot the others and was about to shoot Quentin, she herself a look indicating she may have been wondering the same thing.

I kind of got the impression that the third season may reveal that Portia and Tanya were wrong in their deductions (given none of those they were accusing seemed to know what it was she was talking about before / while being shot), even if only in a short scene showing Greg again, say with Tanya’s ashes.

u/Bripinoy u/Roook36 He was in Supergirl, of which Superman & Lois was originally intended as a spin-off of, with the same Superman and Lois Lane actors from that series, but it was ultimately decided to instead have it be a reboot, unconnected to Supergirl or the Arrowverse. Meaning they can recast. Some other Arrowverse actors reprise their roles in the series as different versions of the characters.

Of course — enjoy! As a heads up, Three Assassins (previously adapted as a Japanese film) was the first book (just translated to English after Bullet Train was), but it can still be read as a prequel (to Bullet Train, which was a stand-alone sequel anyway). While Maoh: Juvenile Remix would be a direct sequel to Three Assassins (also including characters from the author’s book Maoh). There is also another book (Ax) and manga (Waltz), but those have yet to be translated into English.

Are you thinking of doing a review of the book for r/books, à la your r/movies review?

It might interest you and your son to know that Bullet Train was based on a book series — and that the Thomas the Tank Engine gag originated from there. The first book being titled Three Assassins, which was followed by the manga Maoh: Juvenile Remix and then the (second) book Bullet Train — with those being all the installments of the series currently available in English — to recommend them.

I would mainly be curious as to whether this series may very well have Cassidy (from Preacher) pop up in it, given it is adapting the arc of The Boys where Cassidy showed up (and how when saying how different Gen V would be from The Boys, Eric Kripke brought up how “Baywatch Nights spun-off from Baywatch, and it had vampires. Vampires!”).

A new season has yet to be ordered.

If it helps though, apparently the Krill God “Avis” was >!that hive-mind species of spider-creatures from the third season!< (from the Krill Bible) — when it said “>!You will be of us!<“, the “>!of us!<“ part was how the species itself pronounced “Avis” — as in “uv-us” becoming “uv-is” becoming “ave-is” (Avis).

As I understand it, it is underestimating regular people that would prove her downfall — one may have noticed that anti-dragon weapons like those of Game of Thrones have not been invented yet in this series? This series would then be the reason that they are invented.
