And, planes are very highly regulated, to an extent that would be impracticable for any appreciable number of flying cars. Even with that, small planes are quite dangerous.

It looks like that in real life. My wife and I checked in to a hotel on Lake Como for a one-night stay. Fifteen minutes after checking in we went downstairs and reserved another night. A half hour later we went down and reserved a third night. I never wanted to leave.
