Reply to Commute from CT to Boston. by Lucky-Front7675
Woodbridge or Cheshire (husband can park in New Haven or West Haven for Metro North train). Or, maybe Guilford or Madison with Shoreline East train to Metro North to City.
OP’s likely going to drive to/fro Boston (or, Riverside or even Framingham MBTA commuter rail lots), and want to find place to stay 1 night/week. Suspect OP or husband may end up searching for new role within year.?
Towns listed above have good schools, and enable convenient access to New Haven, good restaurants, theater, Yale museums, etc). Milford, not quite as well respected also a possibility. Good luck OP.

Even BDL is not a major airport, requires connections to many locations, and international flights are typically limited (currently, none to Europe, Asia, nor South America; only Toronto, Cancun, and Montego Bay).

Depending on the sweep and specific fees charged, some inspections include an interior chimney video. No guarantee a less than ethical sweep may not BS you, come up with issues which may not exist, etc. However, an ethical sweep with good reviews and in business for an extended period may prove reliable, limit potential risks, etc.

Inter-generational home sharing may be a potential solution, e.g., Nesterly.com, similar alternatives UNH or local city/ town officials or clergy may be more aware of than the university. https://www.boston.gov/departments/new-urban-mechanics/housing-innovation-lab/intergenerational-homeshare-pilot

Narrow target: Augerville neighborhood along Whitney Ave, N of Skiff St up to Rt 15 in North Haven: Whitney Avenue, I91 and Rt 15 convenience to New Haven; near Canal bike trail; abuts higher tax Spring Glen and Centerville (without higher Hamden taxes); access to museums, cultural and sports (Yale and Quinnipiac), non-chain restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, Sleeping Giant State Park, etc.
