Such an easy fix. The park is surrounded by parking lots for days.

And FDR being one giant parking lot on the weekends with cars parked everywhere and bumper to bumper traffic. Ahh just what everyone wants when they go to the park.

Wow that's a big jump. What neighborhood? I know DC put in laws that the rent could only go up like 6% a year.

That area has a lot of potential but for some reason the town treats their downtown as a stroad and instead of apartment mixed use they are building more gas stations. Imagine once the bike path is built home prices will go up a lot.

Dang good to know. I've had a tushy one for like 5 years, the cheapest one and it's been pretty decent overall.

There should really be a amtrak cheap kid price to help families out! If planning a trip anytime soon check out around the 7pm slot - there's a lot of $10 tickets at that time and for a family of four that's really not bad for a weekend getaway.

PA Amtrak rides I believe are set prices. Maybe California as well. No matter what it will be $21 one way to Lancaster from Philly which honestly is a little annoying because it feels too pricey but it is nice to book 20 minutes before the train ride. Really wish Amtrak would get rid of dynamic pricing for the whole system though. And add more sleeper options for way way cheaper.

Since developers sometimes have no choice but to occupy the sidewalk during construction, Councilmember Helen Gym sponsored a bill in 2017 aimed at encouraging more of them to install covered walkways. Developers who provide those structures can reduce their sidewalk fees significantly. But there have been few takers, partly because the fees are set relatively low.

For all the hate Gym gets on Reddit at least she put legislation out to try to fix the situation. Not saying she is perfect but should get called out when she does stuff well.

Couldn't they maintain the amount of parking with a parking garage or underground parking with grocery store and apartments on top? People aren't saying rip up your McMansion or put a 10 story unit on a suburban block but instead why not turn under-utilized space into apartments. Then people have the option to choose either.

Would never happen but adding double tracks in South Philly with an express stop at Synder, Stadiums, Navy Yard and Airport would be awesome. On realistic things - Cecil B Moore should be an express stop.

Also in South Philly. 37 bus wouldn't be terrible if it didn't make a million stops. Bus revolution had plans for a new direct airport bus from Synder that seemed much faster. Hopefully that actually happens. I usually take the 37 if I can catch it but a direct frequent airport bus would be so great.

Surprisingly Atlanta is hard to beat with their airport lines I think red and gold that hits so many neighborhoods and costs $2. Would be the equivalent of BSL from NE going all the way to the airport.

There are more people transferring from the local to the express than waiting for the express at walnut/locust. Have you ever held the door open for someone at a store? That's how much time this transfer is making people suffer.

That's a fair point but not sure 5 seconds makes a difference since they aren't running that often.

I know it's just a snarky reddit comment but it's the start of the train and 5 seconds. It's not saying wait for the local every stop but maybe time it up with the local at the start. Difference between 10 people on the express vs 50 people.
