Deliberately understaffed and underfunded.

Pennsylvania's "job creators" (/S) firmly believe that if YOU are not slaving away earning them profit, then YOU should do the right thing and disappear.

PA's "job creators" (/S) tend to vote Republican....and support anyone who promises to strip away worker protections.

PA gonna offer the same refund to the trucking carriers that use the Turnpike?

Cause doing so might tempt more carriers to open up the Turnpike to their drivers, thus lessening the ever-increasing congestion on I-80. Either that, or toll I-80 at the same rate as the Turnpike.

Did I say anything about the Governor? No, I did not. I said we often feel ignored on the western side in favor of Philly and the regions surrounding Philly.

Most of the state's money seems to funnel into the East, specifically the SouthEast.

But you make it purely a political party thing because you can't think past Red and Blue. Really shows the level of critical, reasonable thought you are capable of.

True, but there could be a greater sense of separation between the representatives from Philly itself and the surrounding communities that have been by and large enveloped by Philly.

But I'm from the western edge of the state. We're pretty resigned, generally speaking, to being essentially either ruled by Philly or ignored in favor of Philly.

Philly would ban all firearms except those carried by their own uniformed thugs (police) if they could. All while ignoring all of their far, FAR more obvious problems.

And this is coming from a trucker who once got shot at down by the Eddystone Port facilities because his TRUCK was the wrong color!

City of Philadelphia Police have state-wide jurisdiction like the State Police.

Philadelphia can (and do) set their own firearms control laws that affect the entire County.

Philadelphia has economic advantages closer to the Commonwealth's advantages over say the City of Erie's economic advantages, allowing Philadelphia to offer more in the way of tax incentives for incoming and current businesses.

Philadelphia maintains a higher level of representation in PA's state government than any other city.

My primary point was the financial gains that can be made by reporting employee misclassification, which happens more than many people think. You are correct in that the IRS misses most cases.

But allowing employee misclassification is also a form of wage theft. It is literally your employer stealing money from you. Which is why it should not be tolerated.

It is truly a failure on society's part that people can be so easily victimized just because of someone else's greed. There are reason why every major religious faith lists greed as a major sin or crime.

Is misclassifying an employee as an Independent Contractor. And the IRS has been on the warpath against employee misclassification for the last few years.

Whoever reports the employer will get rewarded by the IRS. Everyone will get fucked since the IRS ALWAYS gets their money...unless, of course, you are one of the wealthy elites.

If the job is paying 1200/month cash, your cousin will need to talk to a good CPA on how to fill his taxes as an independent contractor. And since it is seasonal work, he/she/they will also need to be on the lookout for a stopgap job they are able to do for the part of the year not covered by seasonal lawn work.

I don't have any recommendations because I do not know what your cousin's limitations are, or what accommodations are needed. I'm presuming that the frequent hospitalization is most likely pointing to chronic health issues.

You would be very, very surprised at how cheap a politician is willing to sell your future and your children's future for.

Plus, we never get to see how much is donated in other ways to politicians for supporting corporate causes. What other way is there to explain how political figures frequently leave office millions of dollars richer than when they went in?

Bribery, graft, and corruption are rampant throughout the entire American political spectrum.

The only plates PennDOT gets bitchy about are the commercial Apportioned plates used by the bigger commercial trucks. They don't give a single furry fuck about the plate on the back of your parent's Buick or your F-150. Do whatever you want with that plate. Wallpaper your garage with old plates. Hell, use old plates to wipe your ass if you are brave.

Outlawing alcohol won't solve the problem. What you need is a well-funded long-term education program targeting young people like the anti-smoking campaigns have. Those have proven to be overall successful strategies, getting more and more young people to not even start smoking as they view it as a disgusting habit (which it is, from a former two pack a day smoker).

Studies show that fewer and fewer young people are picking up cigarettes these days. Even "vaping" is slowly disappearing amongst young people. Long-term campaigns work.
