You’re better off getting a hotel room the night before and night of unless you’ll have someone else driving.

The bars get packed early in the morning and there is effectively zero parking available on the streets. If you get a hotel, they usually have a shuttle that will take you right to the parade.

I’m entitled to any return of my investment, like every other person who takes the financial risk to buy a multi family and houses other people.

I’m inclined to think you probably think your education beyond high school should be free, and your water bill should be non existent, and everything should be affordable and millionaires should be criminals.

Am I right?

So this is how I know you’re short some change here.

It just so happens that landlords have more expenses than just the mortgage. There’s taxes, sewer fees, water fee’s, maintenance costs, repair costs, and all other costs.

If a landlord has a $3,000 mortgage and rents all three floors of their three family and only charges $1,000 per floor each month, they’ll be in the red. They won’t make enough on top to pay for everything else associated for the property.

Who pays for the all the repairs that will happen? The landlord. Who pays for replacing equipment as it ages out? The landlord. Who pays for the damages because of a shit tenant? The landlord.

If you think it’s wrong for a landlord to make a profit from their property which was literally built for that purposes, you’re a fucking idiot.

What to know who’s had enough though? Landlords trying to keep their properties afloat. How many people took advantage of the COVID money and didn’t pay their landlords for their rent? How many landlords have had to deal with assholes who destroyed their apartment? How many owner occupying landlords have had to deal with tenants who can’t show any common decency with their neighbors?

Go and sit in on some eviction cases brought to court and listen to the problems these landlords have had to deal with. Sometimes these tenants deserve to be kicked out on the street to fend for themselves because of their actions.

Someone who has one eviction in their record isn’t finding difficulty finding housing, as there are thousands of people on court connect with several evictions… who are presently renting.

But a landlord should have the night to see that the person they’re thinking of allowing to live in their property for a fee has a history of being an issue.

I would never rent to someone who’s had numerous evictions, because they’re obviously a problem. If someone wants to take that liability on, power to them but it certainly wouldn’t be me.

Sometimes those having difficulty finding housing is because of their own doing.

Make it the states problem, not someone looking to rent out their first floor to cover their mortgage.

There’s nothing preventing anyone from having an attorney in an eviction process and why would sealing eviction records serve anyone?

That would force landlords to be even pickier when determining who to rent to and could have a lot of unintended consequences.

It’s safer for them to be parallel.

If a vehicle strikes them, they’ll strike the rear bumper of the cruiser instead of the side, greatly reducing the chances of there being injury to the Trooper.

They also have vehicle installed LiDAR and Doppler Radar which allows them to not have to aim directly at the vehicle they’re looking to measure.

You’ll be better off in MA when it comes to education.

Massachusetts is light years ahead of Rhode Island in all aspects of education, to the point where our goals for the future are tied to the levels that MA is at presently.

As for tax benefits, if your ex works in MA but lives in RI, he’ll pay taxes in RI and have to file his taxes in both. Anything withheld in MA will be remitted to RI.

But an attorney will handle all of this with ease.

You’ll also have to file in MA, as that’s where the two of you lived.

Because I’d rather have a consistent police force instead of whomever is working for the RISP. As they move to different barracks and are promoted, you’ll just get the latest group of fresh Troopers to replace them.

Where as with a local department, you’ll have consistency with its force. You’ll develop relationships and knowledge of the town and its people.

Like having your local beat cop who knows everyone and knows who does what.

Ah yes, the Exeter State Police. Also known as the RISP.

The state PD that operate within the town of Exeter only do so for dispatched calls. So a B&E, assault, larceny, etc. if they’re not doing exactly that; they’re just normal state PD.

No RISP Trooper is assigned to operate for the town of Exeter like how the CT SP do with their town Troopers. So you’re just complaining about RISP being RISP, who are notorious for being heavy handed everywhere.

And the Charlestown issue was ‘16 or ‘17, not COVID.

They sure are, but you said Exeter. Implying the Exeter PD was doing that, which is non existent.

If you meant the RISP, you would have said the State Police from the beginning, but you were wrong and now you’re trying to make it seem like you were right.

Exeter is possibly getting its own PD though, as it’s been entertained a few times during town council meetings. I hope they do.

Nice try flipping the script, but it’s the juries job to determine the facts, I just present them.

Also, it’s the AG’s office that determines if the charges will be put to a grand jury or info’d.

No one’s fault that many sexual assault cases lack any physical evidence beyond fluids, like finger prints or possession.
