Looks like one of those ugly long-haired South American rodents.

"thestateisgreen" is an odd name for someone in favor of allowing dog shit to destroy all that's green. https://whatliesbeyond.boards.net/thread/8721/update-dog-waste-destroying-environment

There's nothing black about his heart. In the U.S. the "dog craze" didn't begin until the latter part of the 20th century. Before that, except for those used for hunting and other purposes, dogs were treated like the vermin they are.

No, they aren't. In fact, bat shit is bagged and sold as fertilizer. Have you never heard of guano?

Lollllll! You're not very bright, are you? Because of their diets, the poop of dogs is different than that of other animals. For example, the poop of livestock animals -- horses, cows, etc. -- actually act as a fertilizer. Dog crap -- and there is so much of it today -- on the other hand, is literally destroying the environment.

They crap all lover creation and owners do not clean up after their beasts. Dog crap is so toxic it kills grass and everything else it touches, then when it rains or the snow melts, the excrement washes into bodies of water, destroys the ecosystem, kills marine life and makes the water unsafe for swimming or drinking. Off-leash dogs are also detrimental to wildlife and livestock. Even if they do not manage to catch an animal and rip it to pieces alive, in winter, the animal often dies from fatigue.

Vermont is beautiful in winter, but there's nothing more disheartening than a lovely expanse of snow dotted with piles of dog crap.

Dan Curtis, Robert Matheson and Grace Metalious all set TV shows and books in Maine before Stephen King published his first novel.
Why are you going on ad nauseam about this? Neither the Portland Press-Herald nor the history professor quoted in the article claim King is 100 percent responsible for Maine's association with horror. You need to stand up, straighten out your panties, and attempt to calm down.

Stephen King has a lot to do with Maine and horror, but not everything. Who is Bob Marley?

I'm sure Stephen King has a lot to do with Maine's being typecast as the "horror" state. However, those of us who were around during the Dark Shadows craze of the late 60s and early 70s know that Maine was already associated with horror and the supernatural. Thousands of people, who would never have visited Maine otherwise, flocked to the Acadia area to see the location where the fictional village of Collinsport was located. Even The Saturday Evening Post published an article entitled "In Search of Collinsport."

Dark Shadows, the TV show, predates Stephen King's first novel.

There's a reason a lot of horror movies/TV shows are set in Maine.

This sub is supposed to be about the state of Vermont, not freaking DOGS! And if these losers consider allowing their filthy fleabags to defile the snow "enjoying themselves," they're no better than their ugly, environment-destroying beasts!
Edit: The lying troll u/-PineMarten blocked me after falsely claiming all the dog photos posted in this forum are "Vermont dogs, in Vermont" -- they aren't.
