Reply to comment by Nazamroth in TIL the first known résumé was written by Leonardo da Vinci, when applying to be a military engineer for the Duke of Milan. the thing about the cover letters is that every once in a while you end up with somebody who actually IS passionate about manufacturing cardboard and the chance to hire a guy like that akes all the other bullshit worth the time it all took

its easy you just put pillows over the rock and the fortress thinks somebody is having a pillow fight instead of invading from underground

i dont think it would work like that
its not like the bodys various subsystems maintain awareness of how and why they interoperate
your body isnt really aware of its amputated parts regardless of whether or not theyve come out naturally - thats why they dont grow back
complete regeneration would mean that wolverines body must have some kind of schema keeping track of what body parts he SHOULD have - and a fairly generic schema since he aged beyond being a pubescent teen
if its something inherent and biological then it wouldnt matter if he had been circumcized - but the schema developed after infancy then circumcision might have stuck

its not necessarily just layman speak - theyre culinary terms as well
like fruit and vegetable are culinary terms - but fruit also has a biological definition that includes many vegetables and excludes many fruits

Reply to TIL of Complex PTSD, which arises from prolonged, inescapable trauma (like child abuse/neglect, sex trafficking, or solitary confinement). It's hard to spot & treat, and can last a lifetime. Victims have a diminished sense of self, and issues with trust, boundaries, cognition, motor skills, & more. by Pfeffer_Prinz
complex ptsd can occur from simple incidents that simply happened before a person was able to form coherent accessible memories
you can get recurring nightmares or general anxiety or any other symptom of PTSD but not be able to remember what caused it - because you were too young to understand the incident
your brain keeps the memory but its a memory of something you didnt understand at the time - so when your brain retrieves the memory its just nebulous trauma
