Reply to Suppose budget was no issue. What inter-town/city rail connections would you build, either within Vermont or from places in Vermont to elsewhere? by DrToadley
Rail is an inefficient method to move people except in densely populated areas. And high speed rail is not compatible with high population density.
What about high speed buses? Raise the speed limit on 89/91 to 80. Drops you at the last stop on the T or at Amtrak in Albany

Reply to First year in VT, where’s the snow? by magic_spaghetti
Do you remember the winter of’89-90? First snow was the week after Presidents Weekend. Winter of ‘77? Bankruptcy for Dutch Hill. Based on US weather service data southern Vt has less than a 5% chance of having enough natural snow to ski on thanksgiving. Weather is cyclical and the sun controls 98% of it. You can sit like Canute on the shore and command the tide to reverse but it doesn’t matter. Sun’s gonna do what it does

It might be a little late, but the natives are so proud of their foliage that they package them in convenient 30 gallon bags for you to take home and enjoy all winter...

Reply to Proof that capitalism won’t solve the affordable housing crisis. by No-Ganache7168
We need to fix rental laws that let freeloaders not pay from October til May because of non-eviction rules.
We need to stop Act 250 from overreaching into areas not included in the law. The Board has, according to it's statute, no authority in a town with sewers, water and a zoning plan. Now, every plan is subject to 250.
We need to allow in-law apartments to be rented to non-family members.
We need to deregulate housing
