Live in Fairmount and love raising kids in the city. Always something fun to do. No backyard but live a 5 minute walk from the largest urban park in the world (how's that for a backyard). All my kids' friends are from their catchment school which means that all sleepovers and friend time is within about a 3 block radius of my house.
Suburban friends raise their eyebrows over my enthusiasm about kids in the city and then end up spending all weekend driving their kids around and doing lawn work.
I grew up in the middle of nowhere. Not sure if you had the same experiences but when I got to college, the city kids seemed much more worldly than I was and than the rest of the kids from the burbs.

I have a no license plate car on my block that hasn't moved in about a year, wish they'd come down and flip that one for us so it could get removed. I've had no luck with 311.

Yeah, that's right. It's not licensed gear. Some of it isn't bad at all though. The stuff at the store in Liberty Place was also unlicensed and it wasn't great.

Thanks for all the help folks! Turns out there's a table set up at just about every corner on West Market. East Market too probably. Everything's about $20 and they take cash/Venmo/Cashapp. There's a small store in Liberty Place but the stuff in there is pretty lousy. I also hit Shibe for a couple stickers.

He's a very cool guy. He's obviously goofing on the whole thing too.

Do they have a tasting room? I'd go to a brewery style soup tasting room.

I went to Buddakan last night for RW and it was wonderful and completely packed. I hadn't been in years and it will be back on my list. Fun, cool spot.

I'm in the same boat. Her founding a charter school and then making it far harder for charter schools to operate in Philly kind of rubs me the wrong way as well. "Rules for thee, not for me."

Story I heard is that he looked at the field and decided that they all stunk. I'd personally be ok with Rhynhart, Brown or maybe even Domb. IMO as it currently stands the three of them will split some votes and Gym would be in. Maybe I'm wrong?

If you hit Kindy's, try to get to Smedley and Colorado Streets just off Oregon Ave also - it's close. Excellent Christmas light blocks.

HA! Yeah, I drove on that one the other day. WTF? Check tire light on this morning, I'm sure that's not a coincidence.

Ralph's just hasn't been the same for a few years. Not pandemic related, it had fallen off before then. Shame too bc it used to kick ass. Villa di Roma is my call for that sort of place these days too.

It's a good neighborhood. Not much sketchy around there. Maybe a few homeless around 30th St Station but wouldn't be anything more than that.
