NJ atty, not your atty. Any moving violation gets reported to insurance. License points have nothing to do with insurance. It might increase, might not, depends on how their algorithm handles that charge. If it does, the impact will probably be pretty minimal. It's a very minor ticket. I've gotten a similar one and GEICO didn't seem to care.

Don't waste your time calling insurance, their phone operators won't be able to tell you how their algorithm works. None of the big insurance players publicize anything about how their rates are calculated, it's just a black box.

I think your dad's getting ripped - those go for around $25-35 from what I've seen. Not that that's a great price (and it's also kind of annoying that we can only get 10x10mg bags of basic gummies) but it's not that bad, and I mean, as long as you're not a heavy user that's a cheap price to pay a pop. At least they're more consistent quality than flower here.

But yeah our dispo scene is kind of dogshit. I'm glad I'm not going to get fired for this stuff anymore, but it's kinda what I expected when NJ announced they were gonna get into the legal business.

Morris County is almost entirely suburban or rural. Netcong/Stanhope is the only place with a crime rate worth worrying about but it's a pretty small town just outside of your range. It's also not really a dangerous area so I'm not sure why the high crime.

In terms of small apartments, there are a handful of garden apartment complexes between Morristown and Parsippany mostly.

Morris County is around 2/3rds white so finding anything good other than Italian restaurants can be challenging. Dover has a big Hispanic population and a bunch of great little restaurants, but other than that it's not a particularly diverse area.

Insurance won't let you in the garage without an escort. Any of the bigger shops will tell you to get lost. But the solo mechanics that operate out of gas stations tend to be a little more willing to bend the rules for good (read: return) customers in my experience, especially if they've got a spare lift. Look for gas stations with a dozen parked cars in various states of [dis]repair.

NJ allows no tint on front and front side, any tint on rear and rear side. 2-second Google search.

There's a thread asking your second question like once a month at least.

The only explanation I ever got that actually made sense (kind of?) was that they're processed as ATM transactions so need to be in certain increments or something?

I just use cash there now. They have ATM machines onsite that do charge a fee but my bank reimburses me (Ally).

Turn signal is a "I see the space I'm gonna merge into, this is my warning to you that if you speed up and close that gap out of spite, I'm going fast enough to make this merge that we're both gonna have a bad time" signal for me. Like, when merging onto a highway, turn signal comes on when I'm lined up with the space I'm merging into and gonna make the move in a few seconds.

I try to make space for people that are just humming along with their signal on trying to find a space to merge into, but 9 times out of 10 it's just some fucking schmuck who forgot to turn it off and I just made traffic worse for everyone behind me for no reason.

>Besides the tragic loss of life, was not surprised to see more important people speeding along the shoulder to “pass” the traffic. Some emergency vehicles we’re blocked briefly by the stupidity…

I would never do it, but sometimes I fantasize of tossing some roofing nails out into the shoulder as I see them coming up. An old biker friend taught me that trick. Same with people barreling past on the shoulder because they can't slip in at the last second out of the exit lanes on 80W in Paterson. Intentionally selfish and dangerous moves like that should really be grounds for a suspension.

Call the police again. Every time she contacts you, make a record of it and block her. Unfortunately you're correct that you can't get a restraining order in NJ unless you are or were married, dating, screwing, or cohabitating with the other person. Aside from suing her for damages, the only legal way to get her to stop is if they charge her with harassment (2C:33-4) or something worse if applicable.

Yeah... you and half of NYC.

If you don't have a job lined up in NYC don't just yolo a move to a very high cost of living state just because it's close to a big city. The NJ-to-NYC commute is not for the faint of heart and shits gonna be expensive around any big city, but NYC metro is one of the worst because of its geography.
