Central Washington (east edge of the cascades) is also super beautiful. I would reccomend checking out Leavenworth (not so much the town, still cool but touristy), but all of the hiking in the Enchantments. There are a ton of amazing trailheads about 20 minutes from town.

I worked there for about a month and lived in a motel. While there I witnessed people cooking meth in the room down from me, lots of heroin addicts, and a brutal domestic violence incident in the room next to me. Would not recommend.

Not sure about pricing, but I bought a house in sedro about a year ago and absolutely love it. We lived in mt Vernon prior to sedro and I feel it’s so much better here.
