I gotta find the Festivus pole somewhere in the basement, and once it's up, I have to start the Airing of Greivances now rather than on the traditional Day of Festivus because if I don't I won't get through them all. I got a lot of problems with you people!

There's times when biking in the rain is grade-A, fun-time, super stuff, but it's not first thing on a chilly November morning. I'm fortunate to have the privilege of choice to drive or bike but to those who have to bike or scooter or walk to get their needs and wants met, I say godspeed.

Kinda bummed about the rain, I liked pretending I'd bike to get coffee this morning.

Got my extended family Thanksgiving dinner today, one of the few times each year I get to see all the uncles, aunts, cousins, siblings, and nephews. The nephews have to make sure I bring the Jackbox party pack.

Check out the cemetery there too, there's a gravestone marking the final resting place of a cat!

What time at night? I bet the T. Pott bridge or floodwall would be OK. If you're quiet you can probably sit in Scuffletown Park, but it's surrounded by buildings. Maybe a bench by a lake in Byrd Park?
I once biked across Belle Isle late at night and it's as people say: can't see shit.

People died, so it was also sort of a graveyard bash.

Hmm that doesn't strike me as looking like an etching or engraving, just quality line work. Good luck in your search.

Can you share an example of an engraving/etching tattoo style? I don't have an answer for you but I'm curious to know what you're looking for.

Just diggin' thru ditches and burnin' thru witches today over here.
Had a prelim phone interview this morning, went pretty well, but not fantastically. They're looking for more specific experience with certain things I only have support experience with, but I'm still well qualified.

I worked at Maymont for a time this year, doing their best to ensure accessibility for their light show was important, I feel they really try. Accessibility in the park in general is a constant struggle for them.
I think a lot of visitors really don't grasp how big and hilly the property is, they bring the young and old who just can't enjoy the place to its full extent. It's nobody's fault really, people should just consider a visit to Maymont on par with a light to moderate hike.
I gather they used to have trolleys or trains or carriages or whatever and they went out of style or demand fell or something. In my visits over the last 15 years, I've never seen an in-park transport method like that, save for special events. I think a recent article said they had transport driver positions that were ended during the pandemic and weren't rehired.

Thanks, I'll have to check with my people on the inside for a good time with not a lot of reserved tickets so it won't be so busy.
I'm more of a fan of InLight, which seems to me to have more artistic and creative value than the "pretty lights in the forest" events like Lewis Ginter's et al.

I have never been to Maymont's light festival. They say it's their busiest event of the year, but I dunno, I feel like I'd just be disappointed.

Sent out a half dozen resumes yesterday, trying to do the same today. Saw some jobs at UVA that I wanna go for, but they have this dumb applicant management platform that I wasn't in the mood to fuck with yesterday. Also not keen on jobs outside of Richmond right now but beggars can't be choosers am I right?

I remember when I was a kid in a mid-sized town, our carrier was one older guy for like 15 years.
Now I've seen the same young girl delivering mail for the past few weeks, which is the longest I've ever seen the same carrier. There have been times when it's been a different carrier every day for weeks at a time.

I didn't know that office was even open. They don't have hours posted, every time I've gone by, the door's locked; I never totally trust the blue streetside boxes to get my mail out.

Then how come I see a different carrier on my route every other week? I'm worried about these people who I see regularly but then are simply gone. Do they just take them out back and shoot them?

Well at least you're staying active by cycling and not driving between the two.
