Here’s a link to the Frank Thornton YMCA pool - it’s only a few years old, and full of windows which is really nice. I’m a fan of open, sunny indoor pools, though they’re rare! It’s a pool-only YMCA, has nice, clean locker rooms. https://www.ymcarichmond.org/locations/frank-j-thornton-ymca-aquatic-center

I would go with the YMCA. The VCU pool often has classes and other things booked around the time you would be swimming so may be hard to get a lane. With the YMCA, you can swim at other pools too - I especially like the Frank Thornton center in northside, it’s really not that far from downtown. Parking is expensive around the VCU gym too - if you’re driving, you have to factor in about $2.50 parking per visit, so that raises the price a fair bit.

I think the question is why is Richmond high, but Henrico low? Most of Covid, they’ve been similar. My guess is it’s a data reporting issue - maybe for some reason, people in the city are using testing resources that get reported in the stats more than Henrico residents?

I would actually advise not getting down - you’ll probably roast. Stores really crank up the heat here. So say you’re out running errands on a winter day - you go from warm car to brief outside walk in sunny 40 degree weather, than into a sauna store. Or if you’re longer outside, you’re usually walking, so again, you’ll be warmer. All that being said, I’ve been happiest in a fleece jacket, something like this: https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/120713?productId=1678613&attrValue_0=Arctic%20Blue&sku=1000102190&pla1=0&qs=3156271&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgIqb4e64-wIVzODICh2sbAoFEAQYASABEgItC_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

It’s always sad when an accident happens like this, for all involved. I will say that there is a ton of careless jaywalking in that area. I’m a slow, pokey, careful driver who looks for pedestrians and I’ve almost hit people in that area because they’ve practically jumped in front on my car or done really unexpected things. I don’t know what happened here, though. But pedestrians also need to be careful too and follow traffic rules.

I’m terrified of the puff test, but I haven’t heard of any eye doctors doing it anymore, so I’m surprised so many here are saying it’s still done. You can absolutely call and ask if they do the puff test when you make your appointment, that’s what I do. Maybe I have something in my chart that says “deathly afraid of puff test” and that’s why they don’t do it on me 😂
