Providence is a mid-level market. Those who are really good will move up to a top tier market. Others, like Danielle North, decided to do something else.

As it stands today, he could run for the seat. According to the Constitutional requirements, he doesn't need to live in the district. It's up to the district's voters to decide whether they want to elect someone who lives in the state but not the district.

Because the nature of a primary is that candidates beat each other up. Did Trillo beat up Fung enough in the primary that it turned independent voters to Gina? There's a lot more than just math involved in elections.

This is true, and is why last year, CD2 was more competitive than it could have been.

Yes, and that's the point. No Republican has any shot at winning CD1.

Already "looking into it"
- CF Mayor Maria Rivera
- State Senator Dawn Euer
- State Senator Meghan Kallman
And some unofficial mentions of former State Rep Gayle Goldin.
So far...

Or at 61 years old, he sees the RI Foundation as his final job. Spend 10-15 years there, no constant travel to Washington, no need to do any campaigning, collect a much larger salary and stay home. All that could also be a big part of the decision calculus.

LOL, wrong district (not that it matters), but CD1 is much less conservative than CD2. Fung would get trounced. Only Republicans to have any kind of chance would be de la Cruz, Newberry or Chippendale.

The replacement is elected, not appointed. I'm guessing he didn't know he would get the job back when he needed to decide to run for re-election.

Why? That far right lane (yes, the one to the right of the solid white line) is always clear for passing.

Reply to RI Driving Test by possiblecoin
I think some of the other important driving skills have been removed with the COVID restrictions. The DMV tester couldn't be in the car, so everything had to be done in a parking lot. That removes things like taking a left turn in traffic, and turns it into a skills show. I don't know if they've removed the part about the tester being in the car yet, but that was my understanding.
