It's easier to point at foreigners as the source of your problems than it is to point at people you've been holding in prestige (billionaires, grandparents, etc).

I wouldn't go that far. It might be harder, but it might instead be easier. Motivation from seeing others screw up what you entrusted them with.

It wasn't just rushed at the end, it was tamed early on. In the books the heel turn is a slow burn that's telegraphed from the beginning, because we can read her thought processes. In the show she's righteous badass until she isn't.

Honestly, he simply moved on from it. Even before the show began. He's been writing a lot, even stuff extending this universe. Just... this epic doesn't seem to interest him as much. I think that for him, writing it is more work than fun. So it doesn't get done.

...after he saw people's reaction to how it turned out
Was it more the journey than the result that he was repudiating? Hard to say

They have occurred before, but it's like one guy fell off a crane, we heard about it right away, then practices were adjusted so it wouldn't happen again.
Here it's just been buried, business as usual, more where that came from. Order more steel, more concrete, more workers, etc.

Reply to Football Has Found Its New Bogeyman: An analytics revolution has made the sport even more entertaining. So why are some fans and commentators against it? by eddytony96
I think this article shows how there are lots of reasons why people might sour on analytics, not just one thing.
But in the sense of bogeyman, where people just blame any ol' thing gone wrong on analytics, that's probably just people trying to make their personal taste sound like grandiose principles.
As far as decision-making goes, we have to remember that what the algorithms feed you is which choice leads to the (marginally) higher addition to expected win outcomes based on average games with teams and average players. It doesn't tell you anything about the game you are actually in, the state of the players, the crowd, the season/conference/rival game on the line, etc.
It can't be like poker, where you can just ride the odds to better results... hell even in poker you get bad draws, cold tables, lousy nights... and in football you are never holding the nuts.

You can't disprove Newton and Einstein: They definitely existed.
You can disprove their theories of gravitation, though.
That might seem nitpicky, but it's important that we follow the science, not the scientist. Otherwise we can pack it in

Yep. When I was in grad school my union was part of the UAW umbrella. They were super helpful, especially since grad students don't stick around long enough to build the long-term organizing skills

The term is a looootttttt older than that. OJ probably used it during his playing days.
Here it is in Sports Illustrated back in 1991, for instance.
Or an author in 1987 reminiscing about his old football coach using the term, and also complaining about it.

Sometimes, sometimes people immigrate for love, or for work they could do at home, but someone in the US was hiring.
If place B is better place A might still be good. Just not as good for that person's life.
