I've been seriously considering making a few social media accounts to put the PPD on blast and just link photos of illegally parked Philly police.

They do it near me all the time - they park in the crosswalks at a restaurant nearby, then waddle their fat asses inside and enjoy a sit-down meal.

Fuck anyone who needs to use the crosswalk in the meantime, and god help anyone in a wheel chair or with a stroller.

As a renter I'm not sure what we're supposed to do about this.

PA landlord tenant laws are already pretty slim when it comes to anything pro-tenant. Hell, Georgia has better tenant protections when it comes to renting. The only state I've lived in with fewer tenant protections was Texas, and that state's landlord tenant laws are only one step removed from straight up saying "If you rent in Texas, the landlord has the legal right to bend you over at any time."

It's disheartening and so few people seem to know how bad it is in most of the country.

So yeah, I don't know what us renters are supposed to do about it.

They are doing this in phases, in key areas, so they can learn how to rollout it out citywide in a more effective manner. Project rollout is a key part of success of said project

This isn't splitting the atom, it's cleaning trash out of streets using machines that have been around for decades and are used by thousands of people regularly in cities all across the country.

I'm sure that somewhere out there in the United States there are resources the city of Philadelphia could use in order to fully implement functional street sweeping in the city without having to waste time and money fucking around with pilot programs.

Just yesterday I was walking through CC and passed a cop SUV parked in the middle of a bus lane. No officer in site, they were probably fucking off getting a bite to eat or something.

Every day I watch the cops ignore all kinds of moving violations and just do whatever the fuck they want except for doing their jobs, and it frustrates the living hell out of me.

Meanwhile I just watched another group of those dirt bike/ATV assholes go flying down S Broad again.

Reached out to my councilperson last spring to ask what the city was going to do about this problem, and back in May I was told the police had put together a special taskforce to deal with the problem, and that Squilla was pushing for sound-sensors to be installed at intersections (I guess so the city could waste some taxpayer money on something that won't make any difference to anyone.)

Why are the city council, mayor's office, DA, and police department all such an unmitigated clusterfuck in this city?
