Yeah good point!
But definitely didn't want to shy away from the vicious cycle of gathering valuable information and never applying it
Thanks for sharing 🙌

Haha! I think I get what you mean—power like influence
By power I just meant the core definition of "having the ability to act in a particular way" and then applying that to my personal life by using new skills or building habits etc.

Yeah I definitely agree with you! Reading and learning for entertainment is worth it 100%
This post was more about some of us who will read Atomic Habits for example, and then won't apply any of it, and then watch a video on how to study more efficiently, and then won't apply it, etc.
It's easy to get stuck in the cycle of gathering valuable information but never applying it

This quote is a good add-on:
“The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge”—Stephen Hawking
By closing a conversation, you miss out on the opportunity to get the truth.

You’re definitely not alone, analysis paralysis is so hard to overcome, but js personally always worth the leap
Goodluck! 🙌

I feel you! The times where I played it too safe always creep in my mind and haunt me
But I just use it as a learning opportunity. Now I know what I’ll regret in the future and how said thing might play out, so I’ll be in a better position in the future when a similar opportunity comes around

That last sentence is sticking with me. You don’t usually hear advice to live acting out our hedonism or thrill seeking. But I can definitely see where you’re coming from.

Wow this is very heavy but I’m so happy that you shared this
I hope even one person sees this and gets lifted by knowing at any given second we can change our trajectory
I’m happy this resonated with you. Embracing fears has been so impactful for me
Thank you 🙌

Thanks for sharing that! I can definitely say I’ve had those same feelings at certain points
The running behind someone vs running infront is a great point too
Glad to see someone else came to the same thought/realization

Realizing that these default paths that I was pressured to go down were made by people no different or “better” than me gives me the confidence to stray away from the paths I was led down
Hope that makes sense 😅

On this topic, Tim Urban said it’s really a battle of confidence in others vs confidence in yourself
And to swing the balance he made the bold statement that we need to lose respect for general public and society's conventional wisdom.

Great example, I never thought of it like that. The accumulation of iterations results in a satisfying life

It makes me think of this quote too:
“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”—Anais Nin
How remarkable our lives are, is limited by how courageous we live.
The more courageous we live, the more doors we open. The more doors we open, the more we expose ourselves to life-enhancing opportunities.

Yeah im with you I was in the same mindset at first
But when I thought about it more and more there’s always a secondary goal that someone is trying to achieve and unfortunately it’s through hurt

It reminds me of this quote:
“There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance.”—Diogenes Laertius
If people knew enough, they’d do the right thing.

Another example I think of is the idea we should hustle and grind your whole life
I know recently “hustling” has become a topic where people feel extremely for or against, but I think overall we shouldn’t let hustling make us lose sight of the big picture—what are we hustling for?
If we hustle and never enjoy the fruits of our labour or the process, then it was pointless
