It's $8 from Hartford to New Haven. I just went for 90's Con earlier this month.

A gym teacher in my town had to resign from his coaching position because some of the players kept getting into trouble. Some of them were even arrested. How that fell on him, and not their parents is beyond me. These were high school kids, so honestly, they were.old enough to know better as well. I was an adult when this happened, and by now they would be too. I hope they at least feel bad for the outcome of their immature actions.

Check the XL Center in Hartford for events. The Hartford Athletic soccer team should have games then. Hartford Yard Goats baseball team as well.

They would need a rent for $1000 or less. New Haven, West Haven, and Waterbury have cheap options in New Haven County, but even then it's limited.
TriStateGirl t1_jczoyvc wrote
I really find this list out of touch. I posted awhile ago how someone can live on minimum wage. The issue is my imaginary person could only spend $900 to $1000 max on an apartment. Even at 17 something an hour that's all you could afford.
Most people want Milford and you need at least $1500 to $1700 usually.
West Haven, New Haven, and Waterbury have cheaper options, but it's not usually what people want.

I used to visit this monument when I was in college at CCSU. Great landmark.

I don't make nearly enough money to live in Greenwich. I respect how hard a lot of them work, but at the same time some of them are very greedy. This movie really shouldn't offend anyone.

Milford. There's a train station to get you there if you don't feel like driving there.
Great schools, beaches, a mall (kind of dead though), a movies at the mall, Walmart, and Barnes&Noble.

Crime happens anywhere. Also plenty of cities here have high crime rates. Bridgeport, Waterbury, New Britain, Hartford, Meriden, East Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven, and so on.

Is the dangle the tail near New York? While Greenwich and New Canaan are there, it's interesting to see the wealth gap in places like Stamford.

It's not that it's nicer. It's just that it's nice enough for less money.

Forget Farmington. Too stuck up. Try West Hartford or Newington. So much nicer.

No it isn't. They can easily get a home in Fairfield, Trumbull, Shelton, Newington, West Hartford, Milford, or Bristol.

Your budget is great. No need to worry about finding a house.
Fairfield County* Fairfield -Train to New York. Great schools. Plenty of restaurants and so on.
Trumbull-Less expensive than Fairfield. Restaurants, mall, and a movies. Great schools.
Shelton-Very low taxes. Good schools. Walmart, restaurants and farms.
New Haven County*
Milford-Train to New York, restaurants, movies, the mall, and beaches. Good schools.
*Hartford County
Hartford has an airport, but if you have kids you'll want to live in a surrounding town.
West Hartford-Fastrak bus stop to get to Hartford. Restaurants, and the Westfarms mall is close. I forget if it's in West Hartford or Farmington. A movies is over in Hartford and Plainville.
Newington-Fastrak stop to Hartford. Good schools. Safe neighborhood.
Bristol-Lake Compounce, FasTrak stop to get to Hartford, and ESPN. Good schools, but one high high school is deemed the better one.

I take the train from Bridgeport to NYC a lot. It's just under $15 for off peak and just under $20 for on peak (week days only).
