Depends on what neighborhood you live in. Theoretically it's 2x a year for all the city with some parts getting more due to high need. However... My neighborhood has not gotten it consistently twice a year since we moved here and some years they didn't come once (outside of the pandemic) soooooooo. But they definitely will still put up signs and have Seiberts tow your car regardless of whether they actually cleaned it or not.

Beaming over the fact that our porch kitty (posted in one of the dailies earlier this week) has been adopted by a lovely fellow Redditor. Her new name is Emma. And was WAY easier to get into a crate than any of our resident kitties, and our resident kitties have been informed of this fact. Wishing Emma and her new human many years of wonderful memories.

Adjacent to Blackwell is Oak Grove and I've been seeing more houses being built on empty lots, or old houses being torn down to rebuild on the land around here. Just within a 2 block radius of me there are 6 houses I can think of off the top of my head that are either new builds or remodels with another one under contract.

And of course, I must add, still no grocery store.

It's not the best option but sometimes the only option, I don't think this girl will have any trouble getting adopted though, she's very comfortable around humans so I definitely want to get her placed before it gets too cold out. But thanks for your concern, I have rescued and placed cats since I was very young, I can count on one hand the number I've had no other option than to keep solely as a community cat.

Will do. We would love to take her in because she is beyond sweet - immediately giving head bumps, biscuits, purring, belly flops, and let me pick her up without a care in the world, but our inn is very full lol. I have not found any cats that match her description on here, nextdoor, or the lost and found/pawboost groups yet. We're 98% sure she's one of the kittens from the litter born on our block this summer but just trying to do due diligence.

If you lost a grey/dilute tortie recently in the Manchester area, DM me because we may have found your cat. Will need to see pictures or describe the very specific marking on its face to claim. Otherwise we'll be calling around to see who can take her, check for a microchip, get her spayed and vaccinated and either keep her as a community cat we look after or get her adopted out.

Our regular vet is Dr Jones and he's great but hard to get into if you're not an established client right now. We have also used the emergency & specialist vet at VRCC in Manakin Sabot, our old man unfortunately passed but I would still highly recommend them based on how thorough they were in finding what was wrong.

Salem at SinnerG, Ashley at Yellow Bird, Joey at Heroes & Ghosts, I personally did not like what I saw at River City Tattoo on the piercing side of things. If you're looking for more heavy body mods then DC and Philly will be your best bets.

Just as a counter, I took everyone's recommendation and tried River Run. My partner and I did not have a good experience. The facility is nice and the staff is friendly but a lot of extra stuff kept getting pushed on us and I had a dental issue I needed to address and was aware that I needed to address it but they used a couple scare tactics to try and get me to agree to something that day. I had already told them beforehand and at the appointment that whatever I needed done I would need a quote for and to run it by insurance since our plan was new, so would need to set up another appt to address anything beyond a cleaning. The dentist tried to make me believe I would lose the tooth if I didn't address it that very day (not true, it wasn't something that serious to begin with and confirmed that with another dentist). My partner had a similar experience with regards to pushing extra treatments the same day.

So yes, the facilities are nice, the staff at the front are kind, and the equipment is all up to date. But I don't like pushy sales tactics in medical care. Your experience may vary. I went to the one off Midlothian Turnpike. I'm still looking for a new dentist because I did not want to go back, they didn't even bother doing the cleaning for either of us so it felt like a waste of time.
