They did host it. Most of the ski areas are open. Elevation helps a lot.

It was normal to have snow by this time when I was a kid. Climate change is really fucking us over.
There was snow pretty much everywhere outside the champlain valley until Sunday though. The mountains still have a bit.

>private sector's responsibility to house people, how b you look at hotels
I think burlington should put a morritorium on hotel development until the housing crisis is cleared up. Plenty of my neighbors agree with me.
There are 3 or 4 giant hotels under construction. Only one or two appt buildings.
There have also been plenty of proposals to encourage hotels to become low income housing.
For houses with large lots the city is working to encourage the construction of accessory units.

When the vacancy rate is <.5% 2 to 4% of the housing is quite a lot.

Honestly we need to do both. Simply increasing housing supply wont do much. If its all gettinv turned into airbnbs anyway.

Yeah thats why the rest of the state needs to follow burlingtons lead and ban the damn things.

Its none of my business what they do. However I think it shouldn't be profitable to run an airbnb.

There are actually many more empty houses in vt than homless people. We have the second highest rate of unoccupied homes

Ill explain it super simplified so that climate change deniers with less than a 3rd grade education can understand.
Carbon is trapped underground. In the form of coal and oil.
This got trapped long before humans existed. Before decomposers existed really.
Humans dig up and burn oil and coal releasing the carbon.
This warms the planet back up. Sadly none of the animals from the jurassic and cretatious period still exist. So the current ones really aren't adapted to survive it. And humans are making the climate change on a human scale of time. Historically climate change would be on a geological scale.

I rely on my phone for work and at&t seems to have slightly better coverage in the northern half of the state.
I find that I have better service out in rural areas than my girlfriend with Verizon. The total area of coverage probably isnt actually that different between the two though.

But its not just warming. Weather increases in volatility. Sometimes it also increases cold. Look at what happened in texas last winter.

Liqour does get taxed under sales tax though. You are supposed to declare it.

The credit card companies report it to the states the residents live in.
Nh has been sued by multiple states and is very much specifically targeted. You have to declare it at the end of the year.

Buying things like $100 of liqour or some groceries occasionally you wont get caught. There is legitimately no way they know unless you are getting like a car or a washing machine.
Personally I do actually declare nh purchases on my taxes at the end of the year when I need to. Because honestly its not worth the risk to me.
