I see someone go through that zone doing over 30 (sometimes 40 or 50) several times a week. The only reason it's not every day is the traffic doesn't allow it.

All school zones are 20mph in RI and MA. I do like the idea of flashing signs but the limit is always 20.
Unless you mean the hours it changes, which are posted too small to read and figure out before you are past them anyway.

Interesting, thanks for the data and links.
Bristol has 96 official listing so probably has more in reality. It has a population of 22.5k people. Assuming the average AirB&B would house 2.5 people it's about 1% of Bristols housing. I'm not sure that would drop house prices much, but it is a significant amount of housing.

This is incorrect. Housing prices have far outpaced salaries. A quick Google search will show you how wrong you are.

I suspect that people building up AirB&B empires has a lot to do with it. There are people in my town with a dozen houses for rent. I think it's more damaging than most people realize.

To give you an idea on flood insurance, I was looking at a house that was in a flood zone, so I got a quote for flood insurance: $6,600 a year. Which is never going to go down, and might go up.
Also flood insurance only covers a max of $250,000 in damage. If the house were a total loss, I would be out a lot of money.
I decided that having flood insurance be 25% of my mortgage payment was unacceptable. I could buy a lot more house with that money.

I didn't think I needed to explain limo tint, but I'm not young, so you younger people might call it something else. In the 80s and 90s "limo tint" meant very dark tint on your car, like they have on limousines 5% or less light. Not that you were talking about actual limousines.

So like an SUV? Q5? none of the sedans come pre tinted.
SUVs are allowed to have rear tint in RI.

Maybe they enforce it during inspection if you don't "know a guy " but I see multiple limo tint cars with RI plates daily.

I'm not even worried about what it says about a person. We have a law about it, so it should be enforced, or we should get rid of the law. I don't understand how it's not enforced. Like at all.
I would get my windows tinted tomorrow if I wasn't worried about breaking the law, but every day I see people breaking that law I think to myself, maybe I should take that chance too.

Yes, but it's not a surprise they think like that when so many people do it.
If you go into any parking lot, one out of every 10 cars probably has something illegal. Whether it's mis aimed lights, window tint, license plate covers, bike racks that cover the plate, wheels that stick past the fenders, extra loud mufflers, things hanging from the rear view mirror, the list is massive. Since almost nothing ever happens to most people, the law feels pretty optional.

That is almost certainly the case. I worked in a Juvenile detention center in the early 90's and frequently the messiest people were the biggest complainers about mess.

Not sure, sorry. I do believe most contractors test before you start. Northrop Grumman did. Northrop also did urine. I would expect them to be the same, but I don't want to give you bad information so take what I say as a general rule not as definite.

I don't have a problem with that. If there are kids at the school, you slow down. I guess having it be in effect on weekends would be kind of dumb.
I just like the idea of flashing signs because if you don't normally go to an area you might not know where the zone starts and ends.
