Times change, the Haqqani network was an ally against the Soviets, and then they turned to terrorism. Now they aren’t US funded, they’re Pakistani funded and led. Times change, but I suppose you just want to play a game of whataboutism for… reasons.

Well it’s about goddamned time, they’ve only been arming and training terrorists for decades. What next, are we finally going to admit that the Pakistani ISI runs the Taliban through the Haqqani Network?

Nah, fire on a boat, but stampedes are up there. With a boat fire you have: burning to death, suffocating, drowning, freezing to death and stampedes* as options. True horror.

Erdogan is just filling his britches because he might actually lose an election, so he’s desperately appealing to nationalism, Islamism, and anything that might get him an extra vote.
Turkey has no future with him or the AKP.

This, and ISIS needs ongoing conflict to justify its existence, and keep their criminal profits flowing. It’s not like ISIS gives a rat’s ass about the Iranian people, and it’s not like their enmity with Shi’ites would go away with the Iranian regime.

There are a lot of advances which went into that, but the single biggest which made the shift possible was the birth and refinement of the transistor. Before that you had to use vacuum tubes or something similar, which are individually large, require a lot of space too emit heat, and which can only be miniaturized so far. Transistors started off large, but now we fit billions of them on a single chip.

One of history’s great own-goals, and now even if they wanted back in the EU, I can’t imagine it would be easy.

Do you really not understand the difference between attacking people invading your country, and harboring the people and training camps for those who would later reach out across continents and an ocean to attack another country that they weren’t at war with?
REALLY? That’s what you’re going for?
