To see how wrong any prediction would be for 50 years into the future, do the following :
Look back 50 years and see how accurate they were predicting now. I want my damn transporters, flying cars and jet packs. You can keep your 1984 though.

Look at all those millions of people dropping dead to vaccinations.
Oh wait! There aren't any. I know 30-40 people personally that got the vaccine that are just fine. The only people I know that died, did it before the vaccine was available.

As has been said, innovation would slow as the population declined but I think AI, robotics, and improved lifespan/health could make up for a bigger population. Hell, if you go far enough, immortal people (nano/organic) wouldn't need much in the way of support.

The idea is nice but you forget, big studios have money. They can hire the best artists, voice actors and such. One guy in his studio apt isn't going to have the time and know-how to compete with that. A more modest, and I assume nimble idea, would be to get a tight gang of like 6 people, each with their own specialty.

Not enough people, and certainly not the 1%, care enough about this to actually do anything about it. The 1% are in charge. They own the politicians if they aren't those people already.

Taking 3 examples : The disappearing Amazon Rainforest, retreating glaciers, and the great barrier reef dying off. Suppose all these things are either a coincidence or inconsequential? This is not mentioning the many mass extinctions taking place, rising sea level, or average global temperature rising.
Again, none of this matters to me except academically . I wont be around when the effects really start hurting humanity. I feel a little sad that this is happening but I expect it from humanity. We are much better at reacting to the present than planning for the future.

I love to think about the potential for good but when is someone going to target a gene for say, dark skin pigment, and attach a bad gene like say infertility.
