Shoe moulding along the base moulding (since no more carpet) and a threshold in front of the door (you can rip a 1x2 or 1x3 with 22 degree bevel... or buy a door threshold and rip in half, flush to the bottom under door). I would stain/finish to match the wood and not paint it.

You can either use construction adhesive under the threshold, along with finish nails (set and putty the holes) or drill holes for recessed screw and glue a plug over, sand, finish.

Sry if too much suggested. I did this to a room that I removed carpet and the doorway was a bit higher (previous owner chiseled out the threshold. Nice oak hardwood flooring under carpet was the reward..but had to have pro finisher for floors...) Oh, if you do shoe all around, get primed-jointed pine, and paint before installing. Then its just putty nail holes, caulk, and touch up.

Sigh. I was being funny and downvoted...

I saw the BBC article and posted, and THEN read the article. Bailiwick Jersey is an Isle off of France that is not part of the UK but under a Crown Dependency.

It is the largest and southernmost of the Channel islands.

I am also apologizing as apparently, lives were lost.

Well, they are usually called "bollards" and unless code/zoning doesn't mandate it (failure of the county) or the landlord (owner of the property leased to Apple)... who knows if Apple didn't want some ugly silver cylinders out front, you know, to protect patrons... like Target (red cement balls) or Walmart (yellow bollards) or Home depot (yellow or orange bollards to prevent vehicles from hitting store front, etc.

Sue Apple, the design firm Apple contracted, the landlord, the county. Stores with an entire glassfront not inside a mall, but less than 20' from parking... going to be interesting and won't get back the life lost or those injured.

Who believes that driver's foot got stuck... in a late model 4Runner?

Mortgage rates aren't that high. My first home was 7.25% back in the 90's. Granted, the home prices were 1/3 what it is now. But in two or three years, if rates drop, you refi and put the points into the refi. Done.

Its a vicious cycle: you want to get your first home cheap, but then in 7-12yrs, when its time to get a bigger home, you want your current to have appreciated that you actually have 20%or more, to put down on the next one. No one wants to be underwater, which I'm guess, is now happening to many that outbid and overbid.

Shit! I remember watching this! Near the end, the front wheel was just a rim. And the weedtrimmer was hanging off the side. I didn't know this guy stole so many and this truck!

There were like 20 cops with guns on him, a dog, shielded cops. And then he hit a car, then entered a gas station and then backedup and they opened fire on the driver. Who didn't die!

All the cars he hit, you know those drivers won't get shit from this loser.
