The thing about deep fakes is it also creates “plausible deniability” the first wave will damage lives because people (public) will mostly believe they are real, then they will be commonplace and most will assume they are fake until proven to be real. Like a Rolex or a Fake LV handbag. So in the Porn example just assume everyone is going to have deep fake porn made using thier likeness so the social effects of such will be greatly diminished and easily understood, like catfishing or identity theft today it’s likely you have been a victim or know someone who has.

I’m sorry for your job loss. It always sucks! If I can perhaps give you some encouragement by saying it may not be as bad as it could be. If you just consider the internet and the jobs it created that never existed or could be imagined, you may find a path within AI to utilize your skills. If you were let go as a side effect of AI you are in the very first wave so you have a head start in a new paradigm that includes AI. Think beyond fitting it into life today, what will business even look like, what will we value, will we buy books if we can just ask an app to write one, same with movies. 🤷🏼♂️ Back to the internet…bloggers, self publishing, podcasts, SEO, affiliates, influencers, and so on we’re not jobs in the mid 90s. There was no Etsy or EBay to offload your stuff. Since the Industrial Revolution we have more people and more jobs, very different jobs but jobs nonetheless. This time it’s hitting writers instead of miners.
ChatGPT is impressive and we should see exponential advances in AI, but adoption rates are slower than you think and scaling anything out to the masses always exposes weaknesses. Workflows are being disrupted, disruption creates opportunity.
Good luck 🍀try and stay positive

Think of Iron Man, theoretically anyone can wear the suit and have the superpower but not everyone is Tony stark. AI is like Jarvis for everyone, so everyone is theoretically armed the same, but if you give everyone a sword not everyone will be good with it. Smart people will use it to cure cancer while others will use it to watch porn. AI is still dependent on inputs and the questions asked (prompts) not all AI is the same.
AI will become like a personal co-pilot. If it’s utilized to maximize performance to the user learning about the user from every question and query then more advanced thinkers will have more advanced AI. If a 60 year old phd engineer and a 6 year old both used the same AI for 10 years the outputs would be very different when responding but questions will be deeper and more challenging.
Not everyone is capable of using tools equally, not everyone thinks the same.

Reply to Will AI Lead To Lost Of Jobs by therealsam44
We went from an agricultural economy to a tech economy and still have low unemployment. Jobs will change, which jobs will be needed in the future versus today will also change. Being an “influencer” wasn’t a career choice 10 yrs ago and the world has survived without calligraphers. I’m sure Hollywood hires less physical model makers than 3-D coders. Shoveling coal into a steamship isn’t a good career move these days, but biofuel may be. Things always change and the future is never what we expect.
