Safety concerns should not be neglected. Too many terrible drivers on NJ roads. 14th street viaduct has many speeders.
Be extra careful when crossing route 139, a short highway section dividing JC with numerous traffic violations daily that are ignored.

Start posting signs and ads now. People will forget and be stuck trying to get home after midnight via unfamiliar routes when the remaining tunnel jams.
Expansion of access to Holland tunnel now makes no sense for a few years.

Public transit is a difficult problem to solve. There are buses and trains run by NJ transit but usually not 24 hours. Depending on where you have to be on daily basis, the commute could be very time consuming.
Have you considered staying near Madison area? Parking costs and rents probably much lower there so having a car allows you to go when you choose and is probably safer.

Dealership not required but they probably have the replacement battery you need and should not damage your key. Its not that difficult if you know how but don't wait until your battery is too low or you may get locked out on a cold day.

A very convenient local store for Indian population using Pershing Field area where they can quickly buy items after a bit of fun (walking, running, baseball, swimming, volleyball, tennis, cricket, kids playground, etc.).
For thrifty shopping, the Little India area near JSQ is worth the walk. Around White Castle corner, at JFK and Newark, are many supermarkets: Apna Bazaar, Patel Bros, D-Mart, Big Bazaar; and also many other interesting places to spend time.

We buy zucchini regularly from all the markets in our area. To state that Supremo "never have zucchinis" is a false statement. Please retract your error.
One must shop selectively these days. Supremo has products from Americas that are not easy to find at larger supermarkets. We prefer Lima beans from Peru. C town on Bergen south of JSQ has an interesting selection of products from other countries including Middle East (many Christian Egyptians in this area of JC but also other ME people and probably some authentic food available nearby).

The problem with your observations is the timing. Smaller supermarkets like that Supremo can't keep up with the constant increases from suppliers which under high inflation has been unusual. The same applies also to other supermarkets but some of them are much larger; generally when you point out something to Supremo they check and give you the lower price and add that to their huge list of updates to be done.
Stop and Shop and ShopRite, two much larger companies, have many advertised specials that do not ring up properly because they can't make their advertised coupons work properly on computers and always keep asking you to download their apps instead that run on tiny cellphones screens. Why can't large, some billion dollar ones, companies get simple programming correct?
Supremo is not that bad, I am fairly certain that usually give you the lower marked price unless price is too old (they can't afford to take large losses and they serve several communities). I suggest you be kind to them and forgive their problems, its not worth walking to Hoboken where prices are much higher than Supremo's.

Its an intersection of two one way streets and of course stop signs. I hope they stopped and thus could not have been going too fast when they hit you. Police should gather all available camera footage around that time and find the car. (You gave no info on car)
Its 2022, perhaps its time to stop running of red lights and stop signs.

We support biking for fresh air, exercise, etc. but please understand how risky it is.
Cycling with electric powered bikes probably adds to the existing large pool of poor drivers. (vehicles changing lanes in tunnels and illegal left turns on 139 happen almost every day;
crossing a solid line is not a minor mistake, it can kill people).
In Hoboken, a driver talked to the local councilman who unlocked a Citibike near an intersection where he could have easily crossed to the bike lane instead of following another cyclist and cutting in front of driver. Lucky councilman was slightly bumped later at low speeds.

Consider taking buses instead. More pleasant than PATH and you can get fresh air except in tunnel but PATH is mostly in dingy dark tunnels.
Port Authority Bus Station is well connected by subways and there are also buses outside.
The walk from PA bus station to 53rd and 5th is only a mile but can be very busy with people.

Not always! Lowest price also varies depending on which octane level and cash price is usually lower also. Fuel4 probably pays less rent; it sits on a very small area.
Gasbuddy usually lists most of these on their maps program and it changes often. There are others usually less than biggest brands (Speedway Lukoil Valero, etc). Costco is not near Holland Tunnel; their member prices are usually pretty good throughout US.

Unrelated to DeGise, thus a moron I must be.
Unfortunately I have great difficulty with use of 'victim' for the party that was entirely responsible for causing an incident.
I believe anything, including bikes, running red lights is dangerous to anyone they collide with as well as to themselves in such situations.
Trying to bring down some local politicians, you are supporting dangerous safety violations.

I also believe leaving scene of an accident is a mistake but disagree with your opinion: "a minor traffic violation".
Examine the video carefully and try to figure out how any driver can avoid Andrew Black after he passes the car stopped for a red light. He is actually coming from the other side of the road when he passes the car and is moving slightly towards oncoming traffic but is looking away from the oncoming traffic. That must have be a scary moment for anyone just driving normally straight ahead.
Running red light might be minor to you but its suicidal to repeat that stunt.

It was definitely not a normal situation. Some statements made initially to police were wrong but somehow they still hold value for those who don't like some politicians.
Viewpoints should reflect what happened. Instead of 'crash into someone' try 'someone crashed into her car' since she just drove straight with green light. Look at video and try to figure out how anyone could have avoided the inevitable accident. Luckily no one badly hurt.
Its like getting hit by a deer that jumped onto the highway. That's my best analogy and I know someone who was a victim of such an accident and it was very traumatic. 'hit' was made by 'deer' that caused the accident not the victim driving normally.
My guess would be she went into shock, but I agree she should have called police once she was able to.

You pretend this is a no fault accident. You need to accept the reality that Andrew Black seems to have caused the accident by running a red light and also biking on wrong side of the road potentially endangering others.
I never say she did not make a mistake leaving. You just stated running a red light on a bike is a minor crime. But in this case it has caused the accident your group is so upset about; biker is 100% at fault and DeGise is the victim of your minor crime. We must let the courts decide; that's my dumb advice for you.

Why do you keep insisting it doesn't matter that he's entirely at fault for the crash?
Have you even been hit by another person breaking laws? Accident was entirely Andrew Black's fault. He will be lucky to get away with lying on a police report because its obvious from the video that he was behind a car that stopped for a red light and then he weaves left to pass the stopped car. Support for such stupid moves is absurd.
Her mistakes were after the accident, imagine yourself in same situation as a victim of an unexpected accident entirely caused by someone else; she just kept driving, probably in shock (if it was a motorcycle like the one shown later in the video instead of a bike, DeGise could have been injured).
Cars and bikes need to stop crossing solid lines: Andrew crossed the double median lines to pass the car stopped for red light, he should have stopped instead like the car.

"Black said he was considering a lawsuit against DeGise"
Anyone who has watched videos of the accident knows that Andrew Black was cycling behind a car that stops for a red light. Andrew then crosses to other side of road and passes the stopped car on its left side. He does not look for oncoming traffic and is looking towards left when DeGise hits the bike with right side of her bumper throwing him up in the air.
Despite Andrew's report to police that he had a green light and right of way ( he will probably claim confusion due to trauma and shock of the accident which he clearly caused) driver of stopped, he was entirely at fault for the accident. At that point, DeGise is actually the victim of a terrible mistake by Mr. Black. Driver of stopped car if asked to testify should explain what they saw along with any witnesses.
A lawsuit after causing the accident will keep Mr. Black in the news. Bicycle advocates should stay away once they see entire video which shows too many people breaking traffic rules.

Thanks to some supporters of Andrew Black the public is now given a tiny few seconds clip of the accident video; its now in a loop that fails to show important facts of the accident which show it was entirely Andrew's fault.
Andrew, as shown in original videos, starts behind the car that stops for the red light. Andrew clearly crosses the solid line and is in the wrong lane of a two way street when he passes the car stopping for a red light. He quickly passes the car and swerves to the right crossing back to the right side of the solid line, but keeps looking slightly left. He almost passes Amy's car, that's how fast he went through the red light. He was lucky to have cleared most of the car when contact was made by his moving towards Amy's car while looking away.
Jersey City needs to view all entire videos available and object to Reddit's support of an edited version that fails to show Andrew is fully responsible for the accident. Police should have issued tickets for Andrew's traffic violations and reprimanded him for lying about the red light. Reddit lawyers should check JC header now for legal liability.
Amy did leave the scene of the accident but she was the innocent victim of the accident caused entirely by Andrew Black. Andrew now wants to milk the legal system. If he wins, there will be many copy cats. Local jurisdictions have to promote the importance of stop signs and red lights, its the right thing to do!
Accident and what happened afterwards are different events.
Research into frame by frame videos and the scene of the accident can be done but Andrew Black knows he was wrong.
