I'm conflicted on patent laws. They do encourage innovation but also can stifle innovation. Look at placed like china that have little to no patent laws. Things innovate very fast there, but the quality tends to be low, they basically operate on the open source software example.

The dark side of patent law is every one seams to know someone who had a industry changing invention that was bought and squashed, likely much of that is myth tho.

Some call this System 1 and system 2. And your correct the auto pilot system 1 controls an incredible amount of what we do. And system 1 is extremely easy to manipulate

Going by crime rates is a problem, because crime rates are reported by police. If they want more funding they report more crimes.

Personally like someone else said I think the issue is the content of the training. Would be interesting to see a graph based on what training courses they took.

Ya it's good for low end I agree with that, but should be avoided for high end. If I spend 1000+ on a video card I want high performance and true high quality.

You don't see photographers asking for upscaling, you do see photographers asking for higher resolution, less compression, hdr, and ai for auto focus and other things.

I think highend photography and highend graphics have alot in common and the graphics is guided by photography

Path tracing is the new holly grail. Abit different then ray tracing, alot more complex, and physically accurate.

The big push now for dlss and other ai based upscaling I think is silly, why fake a high res picture when you could use ai to accelerate path tracing and other raw features and render at true high res and high performance.

Dlss reminds me of 3d tv's, and 200 Hz tv's, just a sales gimmick. Which is what Ray tracing currently is to.

I agree that's the logic the courts are using. But not the reasoning of the police. ~~Do the police think people are that stupid? ~~ well yes they do trust a "news" outlet that had a disclaimer stating its "for entertainment purposes only"

The police employ people that are easily offended and under educated, teach them to be afraid of everything then give them guns, power and immunity

The extra cleaning with in appropriate cleaning products also causes issues with electronic and mechanical repairs.

I'm a tech and our service calls massively increased for bank machines due to buttons and mechanical items sticking. Also touch screens failing due to a layer of cleaning residue.
