I mean every venue and show calls that area at the front "pit", but Bangor events this summer have slashed the size and the number of folks allowed in and replaced it with corporate VIP boxes and additional seating. As for the restricted idea, I have no clue, but assume it's so they can eject people more easily assuming their secuirty can brave their way in.

The GA pit to Pantera/Lamb of God is apparently under 200-250 people. Unless you have GA/VIP ticket, which will gain you a wrist band, you aren't gaining access as there is just one entry. Moshing will also apparently be "restricted" whatever the fuck that means. Bangor's plan this summer seems to be doing everything it can to remove the pit from most shows or charging extreme VIP costs as more of a experience that close to the stage.

Reply to What happened to the Bangor Bull Moose? Seems like it’s really falling apart. by McGillicuddysGhost
Bangor and Lewiston Bull Moose locations have seen better days. It must be location or local management based, because Waterville, Brunswick and Scarborough are really fantastic stores.

Pubs? Remember Maine had prolonged Prohibition. From 1851 to 1934 the manufacture and sale of alcohol in the state was completely banned. Either you made hard cider or distilled on your farm or you were friends with a Canadian, but no one was riding down to the pub for pints.

How well do you know your local police officers? Because if they see you in a rig with an antique plate every single day at Dunkin', they will probably have a conversation with you. Source: 2007 been there, done that experience

Reply to For those familiar with the Maine Savings Amphitheater, I am trying to figure out what section to buy tickets! by SAS379
The pit for that show is crazy small and double the price. It will be loaded with folks looking for battle, but by limiting the size the venue minimizes that trouble. All those numbered sections are technically seated (not that anyone will be sitting) and can only be accessed from the river (East) side of the seating map.

Not getting this squared away by the start of the next NFL season would be seem like a serious loss of revenue. Get it done Maine.

I do find the Kayem to be even more salty tasting than the WA Bean or the Jordan, but in the end it's still a sodium loaded meat tube so it's probably personal preference.

I suspect most small producers won't tap at all this spring. Even if it does run, the saps' brix number will be below 2 and probably nearer to 1. That volume of sap just makes no sense for a tiny producer.

Well recycle correctly anyway. Instead of constantly reminding my special ladyfriend that only #2 plastics are now accepted by our town for recycling, I've taken to quietly just sorting it myself before drop.

Pretty sure it's an anglicisation of the word Shidepoke which was how natives referred to the bird.

Reply to Do you think Maine should mandate later start times for high schools? by benpinette
In our district they did push back start times in the last ten years. Warning: Old man rant! I used to walk the half mile to catch the bus before 5:30 and then face a 90 minute+ ride.
