I’m not sure I think that is more old school Catholic doctrine. These fundamentalists make it up as they go.

You picked a strange hill to die on. If it was Christmas maybe you would have a point but with this being PA half the people in that crowd are likely hung over. The other half is still drunk.

Name a holiday that isn’t pointless? They are all made up. It’s not like it is an actual holiday either. Again, fun, silly, tradition.

Bro we all know a rodent doesn’t have psychic powers or can affect the weather. It’s just a fun, silly, tradition. It isn’t even just a PA thing the entire country knows about Groundhog Day.

In the late 90’s/early 2000’s there were places around here that only did applications (paper) through careerlink. I guess they figured it was better than having people showing up in their offices. I guess now people figure most bigger places have a link right on the website. I haven’t used careerlink since 2008 but I don’t think I ever got a call from somewhere that I put the app in through them so I stopped using it.

Well of course they have to just repeat what was said. It is a new outlet what you think they are reporters or something?

They do their best but I never found them all that helpful. I feel like the commonwealth is making them as much enforcers of UC as they are employment counselors. I went there during the 2008 recession after just finishing college and the guy told me I was “unemployable” because I couldn’t do construction or any kind of hard, repetitive manual labor.

It is poor there but I can’t say it’s much worse than Philly or any other city.

These people are horrible trying to deal with. This was like 5 years ago they actually were able to garnish my pay the 1st week of the year for like $150 for apparently missing it a few years prior because I moved. The person said on the phone “we don’t make mistakes.”

Do you plan on going to bars? When I was at Penn State only certain bars would let you in at midnight and I think they would put a wristband on you so you couldn’t buy liquor.

I’m going to have to look into it more thanks. It seems decent in that the people who generate value get a portion of it, unless that’s just a red herring?

The part about the people owning what they produce doesn’t seem bad. It seems to be Marx-adjacent.

It’s absolutely awful. Maybe some people are making light but I’m certainly not. Details in the article were scarce but come on their fundamentalist almost definitely played at least a part. I have extended family or are hardcore Catholic this would be horrific to them.
